  • How do i subscribe?

If i'm back in UK - Erm extra shifts in the pub, working a few weekends for my grandma-in laws catering company (waitressing at wedddings/events etc. ) Thinking about ann summers parties as well, but will have to see if I have time for that.

If i get this job i have applied for in egypt, it is a uk salary which i will hardly touch apart from car payments so should easily be able to save £500 a month if not more every month from that as living is so so so cheap here.

How about you and everyone else??

  • Ebaying mostly for me. We're going away the first two weeks of January so hopefully some money saved there (It's all inclusive) and generally trying to cut down my day to day spending (I'm not very good at budgeting although I always make sure the bills and groceries are covered). Also, when I get back I might start looking for another job. I know you'll all hate me but I work in banking as support staff and I lost my job July last year and it's been rocky ever since. Am currently doing a maternity contract but would like to see if I can get something more solid with a bit more money (I had to take a 6k paycut for this job but it's better than the nothing I was getting before).

I do Helen E make up parties on top of my full time job -just as many parties I ca get really, but it averages at 50 pound per party and it's good fun, so once I've paid for my car service, got my dog spayed and finished the en suite we're building it'l all be going on the debt!! I'm hoping that will help so I can start reducing them. They look so bad on paper...

ShadyDaz? Shady eh? Is there anything you want to tell us?! Only joking!! Happy to be off work when I'm out of the office!! :D

Ragstoriches, my sis is a nurse and she gets so stressed about the lack of overtime and the general budget cuts, most of which she says affects the patient care but they still manage to find money for new poster display boards or new curtains etc. Paperwork gets in the way of all jobs eh, we ultimately all just want to get on with te job, whatever it be and not be weighed down by bureaucratic systems!! Rant over...

Chris - yep, that was a bit of interrogation you put us under. It was too much pressure though, I couldn't handle it and buckled!! I work for the West Mids. But no accent! (no offence all you local brummies ;) ) Went to uni in Leics and then just ended up staying in the midlands. So do you reckon you might join? What sort of bit tickles your fancy? And designing valves eh? Do you use fancy coloured pens to do pretty pictures?! :p I love stationery. Oddball i know. And you really don't know what you're missing with Strictly. Some of the girls where some pretty small outfits. The lads in my office make out they don't like but I know they LOVE it!! Ola Jordan in her catsuits is what they're all talking about on a Monday morning. Hehehehe. And what's your shoulder setting you back for? Have you got an aim or is it just a general massive workout plan?

Kate - great that you're mum's giving you a headstart, very generous. Bless the parents!! They're ace eh?!

As for all your other ideas, ebaying (check), make up parties (sounds expensive, i'd end up buying more than I sold!!!) and getting another job (check!) all sound great.... We'll get there eh? :D:D

  •:mad:It's all going wrong!!! My debts are definitely going in the wrong direction!!
I've just sat and totalled them up and they currently stand at 10695.41:eek::eek: This is partly due to having to pay the remainder off on a holiday - I know, I know not exactly essential but it was booked before OH got his hours cut at work so really need to get that paid off ASAP.. Also I do a lot of Xmas shopping for elderly relatives and haven't had the money up front so have put it on the evil credit card. But I will be getting it back - just need to make sure I pay it straight off the card.

Am feeling soooo annoyed! So I'm going to be another one that is starting this challenge now - in the hope that I can get my total below 10000 by Jan 1st!

Hi to everyone who's joined - I'm not always this grumpy honestly!! Though OH would probably disagree:rotfl::rotfl:

Off to find some things to ebay!! Poor kids will get home to find al their toys packaged up!!!:rotfl:

Ok....i have read through your thread and I would really like to join, although I am scared! My debt is currently about £3500, I would like to pay that off and maybe save some of the rest - I think 10k on my salary is a bit optimistic, what with paying a huge mortgage by myself and bills etc, but I am really going to try. Look forward to keeping up with how we are all doing :)
