Right, that's it, the fight is on....:rotfl:
Overall debt hasn't come down by much, BUT we have now transferred £6000 from new virgin credit cards to pay the horrible overdrafts off - 0% until July 2011. This was recommended by Martin in the 'super balance transfer' article. It cost us £260 to do this but that is less than 3 months overdraft charges so will definitely pay off. Really delighted as this now means everything apart from the 2 car loans (£1000 left on each) are now at 0%. :j. We can make some real inroads into it now.
Happy budgeting everyone, hope we all have another good month :T
I might regret starting this
That was my next plan too but unfortunately Richard Branson turned me down as "I have substantial credit terms already available to me". I don't know what that means but I have £29,500 of credit limit available across my existing cards and am only "using" £16,500 I guess they think there is a risk I might go spending and over commit myself (as if). I have a good credit rating and no defaults so I was surprised to be rejected but hey ho, I'll find another way forward.
Sadly April is looking really tight from a budget perspective and I will be well under my monthly target unless things improve.Got my head out of the sand - 01/01/2010

Hello to the new joiners.:hello:
Well done for confronting the debt. It looks scary at first but it really is much easier than you think it will be and there are people on here who have higher debts, or have had higher debts and paid them off.
I'm sure I am not the only one who not only sees a small amount of effort going a long way, but actually is enjoying the challenge.
Plus it is good for the soul to be doing something towards tackling it, no matter how small.
Keep posting
Have decided I'm going to start with the smallest card first and try to chip away at that to get some motivation as I'm not good at long term goals so don't want to work at big total!:eek:CCs[STRIKE] £46287.82[/STRIKE] £40071.74 13% DFD Feb17nowNov[STRIKE]16[/STRIKE]15ODsRBS £425, A/L £2500

End of month accounting has been extremely confusing as my work paid me a bonus... which they told me when I started that I wouldn't get as am on a temporary contract. Not that I'm unwilling to accept... however, if they ask for it back I have so much taken off in student loan and tax that I won't be able to refund in full.
Am hoping to sort this out this week. Does anyone know what your rights are in this situation?
Roughly we will be paying between £800-1,400 into savings this month, depending on the bonus situation.
Another good month based on mostly frugality and a little bit of extra income from the £10 a day challenge.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Hi all,
Well I am officially a loser.
I am waiting until payday (Wed) to update my totals, although it's a rubbish month- I owe a lot out for various car/wedding/credit card related issues.
I will update on Wed as I have some ebay money winging it's way to my bank, along with a quidco payment. :T
Has anyone else found that March has been a tough month or is it just me?
I'll be glad for April to arrive, hopefully I will have more money when March ends:rotfl:0 -

It really does feel like that at the moment! Your total in March was still fab though, well done!
I have updated my sig (boo for not reaching 2400 mark) as I have just been doing one of my favourite things... moving my money around on payday!
My total for March is £252 which is not brilliant but it's still money in the pot. Next month I should about double it though.
Got some items on ebay at the moment, added £35 ebay profits (was more, but after fees etc) £22 quidco payment (had my email today) and £195 from wages.
Looking forward to reading other posters' amounts!0 -
