Gah, having an awful month. Managed to pay off some debt but not nearly as much as the past couple of months and next month is looking kinda rubbish too as I had to pay me car tax and I've had a bit of a spending slip... ouch!
Oh well, Hope the rest of you are doing better than I am0 -
Just updating - paid off £945 this month so totals are now at £5607.29 - well over half way :jBack to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak
Thanks to everyone who posts comps and help :beer:0 -
Thanks Sally for welcoming me. I think i will go for the full 10K even though i'm starting in April. Though looking at some of the other posts it looks like i'm very behind - considering many people are already half way with the challenge. I'm still going to give it my best shot though.
The reason i joined the forum was that i loved how you could keep track of how well you were doing with the challenges and reading other people's entries (to see that it really can be done) is also very encouraging! I'm really looking forward to taking part. If anyone sees Shadydaz before i do can you ask him to add me to the list?
Basically a bit about me - me and my OH are wanting to buy a house this year and i guess i just want to sort myself out financially first. It will be difficult but i love a challenge.
I'm also thinking of doing a bit of Ebaying (to get rid of some clutter) as a seperate thing and using the money for a holiday later on in the year as a treat :j
Just out of curiousity - has there been a challenge like this in previous years? If so, how many people completed it and actually reached the target amount?Mortgage - £105,5000 -
Its great to have a target in mind and i personally love updating my totals and seeing the percentage go up. Dont worry that you have joined the challenge late, it does not matter at all. There are surveys that you can do and mystery shopping that may help you get a bit of extra money.MFW 2016 No 68 £1300/£8500 No new toiletries Cook sth different0

Thanks Sally,
Yes I would like to go for the full £10,000 over the year. I have already paid £6082 so £3918 to find. This challenge should make sure I don't go off the rails.Pay £7,500 in 2011 paid £29,325 No 43 OP £21,825

A bit late into the year but can I join??
I've just gone back through my bank statements and totted up for the year so far:
Jan - paid £1116.89
Feb - paid £971.14
Mar - paid £1210.72
CC debt is listed in my signature below but I have a couple of overdrafts to clear and a small balance on my Argos card, as well as an interest free car loan from my MIL which I make payments to every month. I think I will make over 10k worth of payments this year but not sure my debt will be 10k less due to paying interest on my MBNA card. Hoping to make extra payments on this from June onwards though so we shall see.
Will update my signature with my progress...CC Debt at LBM Nov 08 - £25000+ DFD Dec 2012Second DFD May 2021Starting my MFW journey: Opening Balance: £138,000; July 2019: £135107.33; July 2024 £52974.602025 MFW #360 -
Hi, and a warm welcome to all new joiners
I am on Easter hols from work - yipeeee! hope to find the time to list a pile of stuff that has been gathering dust in my bedroom for ages. OH will also have a good bit extra in pay at end of month due to o/t, but not sure how much will go to paying off debt, as we are planning to get another beagle pup at the end of June! (£800 ) On the downside, one of my daughters rats has been unwell, think she has had 2 fits, so a trip to the vet also on the cards. Amatheya, is it you that also has rats? and if so, have you ever heard of them having fits??? Really dont know what to make of it, and not confident the vet will have much of a clue either
