  • Welcome Fayei :)

TLC sorry to hear your biopsy was positive but at least now you know and you can get on with your treatment.

No updates from me until the end of the month when I get paid but with any luck I should be able to knock £400 off my debt :) It's deffinately getting harder to be good though, I'm just so used to impulse buying but not carrying my credit cards and refusing to spend anything but cash seems to be keeping me in check.

Keep up the good work everyone :)
  • Ive not logged on in a month so updated signature today.

Ive lost momentum at the moment.

  • Well done Kipkip and fluffy.

I had some better news about the car today. It went in, got fixed and passed its MOT and didn't cost as much as I thought it was going to. £208. On the flip side we went to the in-laws on the week end where I was dreadfully ill (stomach bug) and FIL wass saying that his MOT was due soon and didn't know where he was going to get the money to get the brakes done (he was made redundant before Christams and at 62 can't get a job or go back to carpet fitting SE as just had new hip). I gave him the money to get his car done which has skint me.

  • Aw Shady, your FIL is lucky to have you! Im sure the karma will come back and one of your kids will someday marry someone wonderful who will pay for your MOT in old age :-)

I thought it was going to have to wait until the end of the month for any more money to get put aside, but I won a £25 John Lewis voucher at work for naming our new team room! Even better, apparently John Lewis gives you your change in cash if you pay with a certificate, so I bought a skein of yarn to finish a present for my mum and ended up with £20 to put towards the debt! Fab!

Hoping to have £50ish left at the end of the month to put in before pay day, but lets wait and see...

  • Went onto joint account yesterday to check if no council tax month... thought would transfer over now to keep spirits up.

Was amazed not only to find hadn't paid council tax, but also how much money was left in the account mid-month!

Have just transferred £1,000 to savings :j:j:j and hoping to still have another £100 or so left over at the end of the month.

I don't seem to be bringing in as much extra income the last few months but this seems to have been more than made up for by [STRIKE]being a total tight !!!!! [/STRIKE] careful spending. So far this month we have only spent £120 on food, last year we'd spend £90 a week on food, and that was with careful planning!

shadydaz that is a great thing you did for your FIL.:A
