When i think of the 50's tea i think of ice cream floats etc, is this 50's themed or just a tea party? . You could make some sandwiches and pinwheels, sweet and savoury sconesIt's Britney !!!!!!:T0

what a lovely idea! DD did something similar, she scoured all the charity shops for china cups/saucers/teaplates, etc so that everyone had a pretty cup to drink from. Perhaps you could make everyones cup/saucer a gift to take away, that cuts down on the washing up!!!!!:T0

On second thoughts, maybe charity shops have become a bit too expensive!! Last time I visited one, I saw a used tee shirt for more than I paid for the same item new, several years previously. Don't visit them much since then.0

Take the crusts off the sandwiches. Strong pots of tea you could make up some fresh lemonade (not everyone like the ginger stuff) Jam sandwiches french fancies...erm what about the non tea drinkers? Some sausage rolls/cheese and onion rolls cut into smaller pieces so they are bitesize. It's Britney !!!!!!:T0

Tesco tee shirt, not DKNY0

You might find that if you are in church hall there may already be cups & saucers that you could borrow.0

Bet they're the green Dudson ware, VERY fifties. (I bet they are still in production)0

What a lovely idea. How about cucumber sandwiches!
Have seen cake stands made for parties out of paper plates (two sizes) with the larger at the bottom and the smaller at the top with something (maybe a cake support?) glued on. You could use empty kitchen roll inners maybe - covered in wrapping paper or similar. I'm sure a look round hobby craft and you'd find something to use as a support if you are imaginative enough!0 -
For the children, put bun mix into the little petit four cases and bake, then decorate with icing and call them mini cupcakes (or "wee buns" as they're known around here. Make plenty - the last kid's party I catered for saw them vanish very fast - one little boy flattened out the bun cases and stacked them, he must have had at least 12!0
