Rice crispy treats are cheap, easy, not too messy to eat and ok for most kids.
Just melt marshmallows with a blob of butter in a large pot over a medium to low heat, then stir in rice crispys (value ones are fine!) until you can't get any more to stir in. Turn out into a lightly greased tray and press down firmly with a lightly greased spatula or knife.
I would use disposable foil trays for something like this. Add any toppings you fancy such as M&Ms, chocolate melted and drizzled artistically, sweeties etc. (Chewy toffee doesn't work, I have tried it!)
When set, or when you arrive at the party, cut into smallish squares and enjoy.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
They sell clotted cream in Coles, not the Cornish variety, but it is very good.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

You could make fifteen http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/fifteens/Detail.aspx
As Prince william is having this as his groom cake."Let your boat of life be light, pack only what you need- A homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone who loves you, a cat, a dog, a pipe or two enough to eat, enough to wear and a little more than enough to drink, as thirst is a dangerous thing" Jerome k. Hi happierdaystocome.
I could be completely wrong, (sorry if I am) but I have aways believed that fifteens is a recipe that originated in Northern Ireland and that the recipe in this thread is the one that Prince William enjoys.

Pixie Coles or Woolies will have thick cream that would be suitable for your scones!

Hi
I also add some herbs and black pepper to the onion and they taste like they've been pickled. Very tasty.Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -

It would be fab though if you could get it sent over as we are planning on moving to Australia later this year... mmmmm scones, jam and clotted cream - yummy."People buy things they don't need, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like" - Clive Hamilton on Consumerism.0 -
If you whip some double cream, it'd probably be a good approximation.0
