As for AVForums, did you read the thread? Contained zero advertising, just me replying to forum members asking me questions. You certainly didn't see the email I got at the same time listing advertising rates
Your come uppance on AVForums quoted above (post #37) wasn't just for perceived spamming in that thread, but across their board.
eg. http://www.avforums.com/forums/htc-mobile-phone-discussions/1056166-buying-htc-hero-vodaphone.html#post10129167
You will see that the complaints about your spamming remain, but your spam posts were deleted.
And as far as you getting an email (how could I or anyone else possibly have seen it?) listing their advertising rates, everyone reading your come uppance there know they pointed you towards paying for your advertising, as the Mod's post actually said so in his post closing you out:The time has come to close this thread now.....................If Mobiles.co.uk wish to advertise on AVForums and use AVForums to spread their word, please contact the Admin team via the following link:0 -
Ok, you got me, this is actually the least successful advertising campaign ever.
The idea was to appear on forums where people were asking questions about us that only we could answer and then cunningly sell mobile phones by never, ever mentioning any of our deals, never linking to product pages, never pitching why we're better than the competition and finally engaging in lengthy discussions with users who post nothing but their own derogatory opinions and assumptions.
You got me!
By the way, you are aware that "spam" is unsolicited advertising and none of what you are referring to is either unsolicited or advertising, right?“Official Company Representative

Please explain how I've had dozens of conversations with you and yet I'm not interested in helping you? Do you think I enjoyed them?
Someone who was here for PR and spin would have ignored you from day one - I've tried to have discussions with you, asked for your input on our cashback T&Cs, all sorts.
It's very frustrating and as you will remember I promised to stop trying, which is what will now happen.
Thanks,
There are very few perfect companies in the world. I'm afraid it's like banging your head aginst a brick wall, trying to catch the babies toys as they come flying out of the pram.
I have to pick you up on one thing rep - this isn't a 'consumer revenge' site in the literal sense, is it? It's about helping people save money, get a bargain, understand their consumer rights etc etc. i know we're into sematics here but my problem is that some people seem to think it is a consumer vengeance site - if you know what i mean....
once again, a thread had becoming a slanging ground, away from the intention of the op. ironic, since the av forum thread was closed down. i just wish MSE expert would now introduce some tighter guidelines as to decorum within a thread. and perhaps operate a warning system for people who take over threads with their own, tenuously linked agendas.
it really is beginning to spoil, not to mention irritate, the vast majority of users. it's also interesting to note how a lot of newbies (not spammers) seem to post something and then disappear......0 -
It says "consumer revenge" right there at the top

I use this site myself, and have done for years since I got started with reclaiming banking charges. I came here professionally partly as a result of this, to give something back, and this simply isn't working out because certain users are only interested in attacking me; I get it, you don't think people should use us (even though you do yourself, because of our deal strength). Everyone else gets it. Give it a break, eh?“Official Company Representative

sorry-you thought the latter part was aimed at you. i think you have to reconsider what i'm getting at....0 -
Sorry, no, you're not you in the above but it does read like that. Obviously it's those with a hidden agenda or just an immovable chip on their shoulder.“Official Company Representative

i think 'revenge' is an ill chosen word. one that maybe martin lewis should reconsider....
it may not sound as effective, but 'justice' is perhaps more suited.
revenge involves 'a harmful action'....
but then here i go....miles off thread...0 -

no harm done - quite nice to have an element of evolution to the conversation, which i struggle to have with some people!0 -

Why is it that some users have "derogatory opinions" when they point out that what you say is mainly spin, smoke and mirrors and downright untruths? According to you, the PR mouthpiece of this dealer these people who KNOW better because of direct, recent and substantial EXPERIENCE of your organisation only make "assumptions"??? Now THAT is extremely derogatory (as a plain attempot to deflect fair criticism) and pure arrogance!0 -

Thankyou mobiles.co.uk, excellent service.
A positive thread at last for mobiles.co.uk ???
By Post #4, Mobilejunkie appears and managed to have a dig at ilovemydebts "Since you obviously didn't understand the t&c in the first instance there's no way to see whether thus dealer treated you any better than it needed to without having such detail."
And by post #10 he writes "Make sure you get fututre claims correct; should you send a claim in late by even a day there is no way this dealer would honour it ".
And by post #40, it's back to the old tale, repeated on so many threads, the 3 musketeers attacking the rep and the rep responding like for like.
