MSE News: Ryanair to charge for Visa Electron bookings

They are the greediest airline I have ever seen. Worst service and far away airports. Sometimes the bus ticket from the airport to city center would take longer and cost more than the actual flight.
To avoid paying them a penny, try to open a Neteller account, which gives you free Pay as you go Master Card that you can load for free from you bank account and have no charges for purchases.0 -
Are ryanair (or indeed any firm) allowed to make a profit on card fees? Charging each way seems way OTT, when they only get charged (I guess..) one per transaction?
I suppose mastercard gave them a good promo offer, or one better than electron.. wonder how long it will last..
Chop and change all you like, but I am not going on an airline that treats customers like something you might step in on a farm...
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -

Maybe so but others who have more time will no doubt delve into it and find any "catches".
The easiest and simplist seems to me to be ICE sterling traveler card.
Easy to open and only costs 2%,so £102 minimum and can be used nearly everywhere in the UK.
If you don`t use Ryanair that often,it seems to be the best "one-off" around.0 -

Meaning, for me, Euro > Sterling > Euro. Could be quite costly.0 -
Frequent ryanair users who go to a Euro country very often may want to get a sterling and a euro Ice card because some times the flight from a Euro country back to the uk can be significantly cheaper in Euro. Conversion costs may reduce the potential savings though.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Obviously I didn`t know you live in RoI when I posted and I can see what you mean about cost.
I thought I read somewhere the RA intend to bring their own card out, which would be in euros.0
