Get a Fair Fx card through www.quidco.com you'll get £7.50 for ordering one, the card is free, and there are no charges except £1 to use the atm

It works fine no charge on ryanair

The card is free? I thought it cost £9.95 unless you either put £500 on it or buy it through Moneysupermarket. I doubt that it's possible to use both the Moneysupermarket and Quidco discounts together, and I think most people won't want to put £500 aside just for Ryanair flights.

Also, they don't do a Sterling card, so you would have to pay for currency conversion twice - once when you load Euros onto the card, and again when you buy flights in Sterling. These are not explicitly listed as charges, but by giving you an exchange rate worse than the wholesale rate they are effectively charging you.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

The Utility Warehouse card has got to be a top option for this. I use it to take advantage of the 5% cashback at sainsburys on food and petrol.

LMAO at this whole saga. Just finished reading the last 6 pages. The lengths some people will go to to save a couple of quid is unbelievable. Look, just put your hand in your pocket and travel with a proper airline, one that doesn't try and take you for a fool. For example, I can travel to Scotland cheaper with Flybe than Ryanair, to Barcelona with BA cheaper than RA, to Tenerife with Monarch cheaper than with RA (This is including ALL costs involved) and at the very least I won't feel like I am being laughed at by an MD that has his hands on your hips and is doing unspeakable things your bent over self.
If you want to travel to some obscure destination in Europe for a quid just to say you flew in a big metal bird, then that's your choice, but stop bleating about it costing you a few quid more than it did last week.
Let's be honest, it is only £10 more, but of course that doesn't sound patronising enough when you could come on a forum saying that you could get to Baklava and back for a pound.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I don't think people are 'bleating on about it'. I think that people are still looking for the cheapest way possible to fly to their chose destination and the past six pages have been a discussion on how to do that.

I fly because I need to, I only ever fly to Dublin (oh and I flew to Paris using them for the first time ever a few weeks back), and Ryanair are the only airline that fly to Dublin from Newcastle. I work hard for my money and if I have to spend a few hours researching to get a prepaid card that means I can travel for £2 rather than £12 then I will. Thats five extra return flights for me!

People can laugh at Michael O'Leary all they want, but for me, that guys a lifesaver. I've been able to see my OH once every ten days thanks to him, rather than once every couple of months if I'd had to constantly pay for regular flights. For that I'm eternally greatful. I don't need first class luxury or being waited on, nor do I expect it.
  • @Stoneman - You are being patronising .
Not all of us have the choice of airlines which fly to and from our necessary destinations.
With the withdrawal of Easyjet from East Midlands next year we have a choice of Ryanair or BMIBaby from Malaga, as we live in Spain.
We are pensioners who travel this route to visit our family and I can assure you that a fiver per person each way, i.e. an extra twenty quid IS important to us.

Having got THAT off my chest - another gripe - NONE of the card issuers recommended on Martin's site will accept applications from non UK residents, even after such exhaustive checks as requiring full passport details. ICE would not recognise my address as it's my daughter's UK address presumably as we are not on the electoral register there .
So how do I get a prepaid card in Spain - you find one if you can & let me know!
Our own Spanish bank only do a virtual, one off transaction, card and it's a VISA, so no good for ScamAir.:mad::mad:

Oh dear another one who thinks it is OK to advise people not to save money on a money saving website!

For your info, I currently save £40 everytime I book our family to visit relations in Dublin. We have gone 5 times this year so thats a saving of £200 and you think I should

    1. Pay a lot more with another airline or
    2. Pay the £200 to Ryanair or
    3. Not look to save some money?

    Answers on a postcard please

You've given a link to the wrong website and it's a not too attractive option Charges, charges and charges.

Have a look at the Entropay site, it says they accept applications from all countries except the USA. there is a £5 application fee and a 5% loading fee, so might not be any good to you but worth a look.
