MSE News: Ryanair to charge for Visa Electron bookings

Ryan is one major incident/ accident away from some very hard times IMO, and it will happen one of these days of that i'm very sure.
That's a pretty distasteful thing to say.
Ryanair have actually one of the best, if not the best safety records in the aviation world, and a lot of this can be put down to spending a lot of money on maintainence combined with not flying old wrecks like many flag carriers (BA, I'm looking at you!) do.
As for 'very hard times' - Ryanair are actually turning a profit these days, unlike most airlines.
Ryanair are taking justifiable stick over the move to charge for Visa Electron, but attacking their safety record is absolute lunacy. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -
Ryanair once again show their true colours by making their rip-off hidden charges almost completely unavoidable. To avoid being stung £10 per person to pay for flights we now have to pay to get a special card, pay to load it up, pay to pay for things with it and maybe even pay a monthly fee if we don't use it. Oh and surprise surprise Ryanair will offer such a card themselves.
I don't care if Ryanair are "technically" cheaper. I detest their whole attitude of advertising fake prices and then making it virtually impossible to get them. I have never ever seen let alone bought a flight for anything like the prices they say I can get, even using electron and travelling wearing only my pants...there are always extras and it's despicable.
I will gladly pay more in future to fly with an honest airline to an airport that charges the prices it advertises (and actually travels to the city they claim rather than a town 30 miles away).0 -

You break the rules by coming here purely to advertise your site.
You do this in every post.
And you know your name breaks the rule!MSE_Martin wrote:No usernames should contain websites0 -
Nuts to RuinAir, we take the ferry! Stressless, scenic, rail & sail return, East of England to West of Ireland, £95- all in, no hidden charges.
Only an emergency would get us flying now.0 -

So have BA / Virgin stopped advertising flights to "London" that land at Gatwick?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Something to bring up in the weekly email?
Basically, we're all going to have to get a Mastercard Prepaid card to purchase flights instead of electron!
Basically there is an article on Marketing Magazine that I am not allowed to link to as a new user.
Why bother, just stop using the patronising bas****s. We live 10 mins from East Midlands Airport and used to fly Ryan. 12 months ago we decided to stop using them and now travel to Birmingham to use BE. 4 trips last year, Great aircraft and loads of legroom, great service, no patronising MD!!0 -

You have searched for threads relevant to your website, and seized on them to post spam referring to your site.
And in every post you have advertised your site by way of your rule breaking board name.
But you knew that! (As others have previously pointed it out to you - and how could you expect us to believe you thought the "no advertising" rule was so easy for "clever" people to get round with their username?)
And despite others pointing out your spam posts, instead of stopping you have just carried on - (and started this new tack of protesting your innocence, but protesting too much!)0 -

I wish it was that easy. The airport we fly to/from is served best by Ryanair. The difference in price, bearing in mind, I have a family of 4. The cost differential on 2010's flights is £700 - I paid £376 with Ryanair and Thomson would have charged me £1050 for the same-ish flights with worse flying times.
I am willing to put up with all this hassle, note I haven't slagged off Ryanair (even though I find their business practices questionable), but was trying to help people realise the cheapest (hence best money saved) way of buying flights from them would now be through Mastercard prepaid.0 -
The only way to stop Ryanair's outrageous behaviour is to boycott them.
However, principles come some way down in the pecking order, so I'm not holding my breath!RIP independent MSE.
