Phew, the bank does faster payments for under £250 but if it's over that then it's 4 days. Thought it had disappeared into cyberspace. Really pleased that we got a good deal on insurance as well. The sun is shining on my finances at present.
Is anyone else suspicious when that happens??!!0 -
Sorry I have just been lurking lately and find your posts so interesting. Felt I had to post on this one though
I am so sorry to hear about your horse. How lovely though that he was out doing what he loved at the end of his long and happy life. I am sure that his spirit will live on in all of your memories of him.
What a great idea, a bring your own cheese and wine party! I bet that will catch on with your friends. Next time though add rubber gloves to the bring bit:)Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Lol, yes, maybe bring your own glasses plates and cutlery as well, and blimmin well take it home with you! The house looked like a bomb site honestly, coupled with my hangover, err... flu symptoms... it was a nightmare. Good party though, the first time we have shown our house off, we moved in almost a year ago and have done loads to it (freecycling etc) and love it to bits.
I am really gutted about the old bug9er. He had such character, he had bitten me more times than I can remember but he was 100% happy, no aches or pains or anything up until he went out like a light. I have lots of pictures and even more memories though.0 -
Sorry to hear about your horse
The bring your own cheese and wine party sounds good though! Glad you had some positives to the last few days!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks SH. Am full of cold this morning and really not feeling the love for work but I have so much to do and so many people booked in I feel like I have to go.
We need a new vacuum cleaner and have seen the one we want on Amazon, I tried to cash in some dooyoo miles for vouchers as some were expiring, £20 went through fine but I haven't had the other £20 even 2 weeks later and now they are ignoring my emails! Will get onto that today! It hurt me to write all those reviews so I want my dosh!
Have to get milk today and probably some paracetamol, so it'll be a low spend day.
OH and I were discussing mortgage last night. We're thinking about overpaying by 100 a month as our debts are 0% interest 4% lower than mortgage rate. Will have to do some sums to see what's better.0 -
Good luck with dooyoo
We considered overpaying our mortgage but I think the bigger pressure for us is our CC so that is where we focused for now...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm better now! Did secret extra job on Sunday even though I felt like death, so looking fwd to the end of the month and some extra pay!
Not much news on the DFW front really, just balance transferred everything so it's interest free for 15months. We'll have it sorted before then but sometimes it just seems insurmountable!
Something always comes up to swallow my money, OH and I did spreadsheets on the weekend and have a steady plan to pay the 0% interest CC off whilst still doing some minor home improvements.
On leave in a week, cannot wait!!!!!0 -
hi csa - are you doing anything in particular while you are off?

We've been slowly clearing out a hedge which was encroaching on our garden, the bloke we bought it off was a bit idle and just put up a new fence to cover it up! When we looked at the plans we realised it's ours! It's taken us a year to clear about 30ft so we're going to re plant it with some native trees and put up a new fence. We have a budget of our council tax payment!! As it's Feb, it doesn't come out this month but we have budgetted for it. I can't wait. Our whole house is a work in progress, we plan something, work out how we can get it as economically as possible, then do it as we get time.
It will probably only take us two days as OH is very motivated and no doubt will get me up at 0630 to make a start!
I also have a dental appointment with a specialist to sort out some work that has been going on since I was 14, so kind of looking forward to that but it's hard being a patient when you know what's going on!
Just can't wait to not drive 40miles to work every day!!!0
