Whats the best deal Wanadoo/Orange has offered you to stay

After meaning to ring them for a while I eventually got round to ring them yesterday. At first the fella on the phone just gave me some bog standard info but once I said I wanted to get through to disconnections I got offered a new deal.
Got my existing 6gb usage package of £22.99 down to £14.99 with no tie in, my exchange is getting upgraded in August so will get that at no extra charge once it is rolled out.
Happy to remain with them at that price.0 -

So what exactly did you do/say paul.carter to get them to offer you the £27.99 deal for £17.99.
IAN
Ring them up and ask to be put through to someone who can discuss ending your contract. They will probably ask why and try and give you some reasons for staying, but just keep asking to be put through to someone else. When they do this, just explain to the person over the phone that you have been paying £27.99 a month and due to the recent Talk Talk package launch have realised that this is way too much money and no longer competitive. Ask what they can do to reduce the price as otherwise your off. They should immediately try and do something, either give you one or two months free of charge or more probably reduce you down to the £17.99 (or maybe a mixture of the 2!). Don't worry if they don't appear to be playing game - kindly thank the person you have spoken to and they you will think about it and call them back later. You won't have lost anything. I would however be surprised if you don't get what your after. Good luck and let us know how you get on...0 -
Hi,
I was also put on the £27.99 package for £17.99... sounded like a good deal but they re-graded my speed at the same time and cut me down from 1Mbps to 512kbps - not great. Since then my access has been really patchy and has been cutting out 3-4 times an hour, so I'm now leaving...

I have been given three months free - asked the customer service guy to put me through to a supervisor. It works all the time - I've been with them since freeserve days and have had the 3 months free several times now - every time I get fed up about anything I get through to a supervisor and this seems to be their normal response! Interesting that others are having online problems - I thought it was just mine. Will wait until the 3 months is up then complain!!!£2 saver club £16 so far!! - it's growing!!! :j

3 months. Blimey you did well. I only just the one and he wouldn't budge on even 2 months. When you say supervisor, was that the supervisor is the customer retention department or just the usual customer services department?0 -
I was a Wandoo broadband customer (now taken over by Orange.) I have been paying £17.99 per month for 512 broadband. Orange is now offering 1Gb broadband for £14.99 but, surprise surprise, not making any effort to tell former Wandoo customers this, so they keep paying over the odds.
For new customers, Orange does a 12 month contract for the £14.99 service - but if you've been with Wanadoo for more than 12 months, they can't lock you in.
So I have just called Orange on 01642 732793 and asked for the cancellation department - and have been switched to the Orange service and am saving £3 per month and getting faster service with no lock-in. Didn't even have to fight - just said "I'm paying too much and I'd like it reduced please.":D
Please do post a reply if you follow this tip -be pleased to know if it's helped anyone.0 -
you could have saved more (£4-6), got a faster speed (upto 8mb), and have 2GB, as opposed to 1GB by moving your connection to zazizam instead lol0

Not many people have heard of or trust them though0

Thanks for the tip but I'm very happy with the service from Wandoo/Orange - I've never had any problems with it and it is fast enough for my needs. I just resented paying too much for it. I did see other firms offering cheaper services but I'd never heard of them and want to stay with someone I trust.0 -
There was another thread on this, I got two free months from cancellations at Wanadoo/Orange staying with the same package (2Mb, with a 2Gb download) limit which I was paying £17.99 a month for.
Its good to remind people blighter that if you don't ask you don't get. O yes and welcome to the forum. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
