To clarify, I am asking this question as I want to spend as little money as possible and buy as few beds in the long run as possible.
Then as I stated in my first post....... don't buy anything until you're 7 months pregnant! You already have a cot bed - just take the sides off until you know what wil be required. You'll get better answers using your OWN judgement and common sense than you'll get off arbitrary strangers on a random chat forum who have no idea of your specific requirements or those of your daughter.
Sorry - can you expand on your first paragraph as I don't know what you're talking about so therefore can't respond? I can't work out if you're being sexist or not?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
OP, I think most 2.5 year old's will be fine in a bed. If you're still unsure nearer the time, then the new baby could always sleep in a (cheaper than a cot) crib or moses basket for a few months. You could also fit bed rails for your daughter, as someone suggested.
I'd go with the 'big bed' idea, and deal with any last minute concerns nearer the time. Good luck![FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.

Op just start saving some money now, for either option, I know some parents whom quite happily keep their children in cot beds till 4 years of age, with the sides off, so I get your point about considering buying another cot bed for the baby, to minimise the upset to your elder child, when the time arrives.:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0
