OP, I lost a baby in April this year and whilst it broke my heart it didnt stop me planning ahead when we decided to keep trying. Its your life, I am sure you are well aware of the potential risks that come with pregnancy.:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0

Nice.
Back to your completely pointless topic......"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
How is your third bedroom set up? You could think about decorating it all up nice for your DD, with a big girl bed and see if she starts to sleep in there?
But I would just buy a bed and you will probably find that she will swap over on her own at some point between now and the new baby moving out a moses basket/crib and needing the cot.0 -
I have been helpful. I've told you to wait until you are 7 months pregnant and then start thinking about such petty things. Whether you like it or not, it's the most common sense advice you'll get
You seem very agressive btw. Are you usually like this?
I am sorry mrcow but could you read the OP's posts and your responses to her from HER point of view please? I've just read this whole thread and have found your comments rather unhelpful, patronising and quite off-handish. In her position, and although I always try to be nice, my responses to you would have been exactly the same. Your comments made her been agressive to you!LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

I've not "made her" be anything. She is what she is.
All I have said that it's a pointless question. She should count herself very fortunate that she has nothing better to worry about in a way, but at the same time I am concerned that a parent would appear to have so little common sense to ask such a pointless question (and start a forum thread on it no less!) and to then go on to query as to why it should be considered so.
My concerns have been less about what's being asked and more about querying the lack of common sense being displayed here."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Mrcow, Are you a male or female and do you have any kids of your own? What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

Its not a pointless question at all, how ridiculous. The move from a cot to bed is far more than just about what objects you own, the when to do it is very important and not every parent knows when its best to try. You seem to be deliberately trying to goad the OP and her only fault is to take you on. As this forum is about money saving, it makes perfect sense to ask whether she should buy a bed or another cot bed, aside from the parenting issue alone. If she has 'common sense' it will be to pay you no heed whatsoever.:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0

Why would that be relevent?
How would it help you to know either way? Would you take my comments any differently if you knew I was a Mum of three? Or two? Or one? Or a single male with no children?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Erm.....she's already got a "cot bed" - the transition from cot to bed is irrelevent in this thread as this will be happening as soon as the toddler shows that it's required (by wither clambering over the sides of the cot, or being ready to be dry at night and therefore needing to be able to get to the bathroom independently).
It's a completely independent issue as to whether she should be considering buying a new bed in case a new baby comes along by next Sept/Oct."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
It's not relevant, but I only ask as if you are a male with no kids then you would think this is pointless to you as you would be male. If you were a woman, then you probably have more money than sense or something like that.
To clarify, I am asking this question as I want to spend as little money as possible and buy as few beds in the long run as possible. What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0
