Should I buy new or nearly new?

Well from the impression I got, they were trying to sell the vehicles that were in stock in the country. These vehicles would have been driven down from the various dealerships they were in stock at, and obviously incure a bit of " delivery mileage ".
But because this car isnt effectively instock, I was told today that it will travel from factory on a lorry, onto a boat and then from Southampton docks be loaded onto a lorry to be bought to my dealership. This is the exact same thing that happened when I bought my 08 fiesta last year. It was being built in Germany, and was delivered by lorry to my dealership. It had 5 miles on the clock.
To be honest, even if it was delivered with just delivery mileage I dont think I would be too fussed as I have a good deal.0 -
Had dificulty finding a pre-reg or even second hand car cheaper than I got my new Fiesta Zetec too.
Then maybe you didn't look hard enough, !!!!!! used cars are cheaper than new ones. If they aren't you are looking in the wrong place for a new car.
And if the price of a fart is about £3K come round here and I've got a 100K's worth for you,;)
:rotfl::rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

i think the problem here is they are comparing thier price that they haggled for against the screen price on a used car that they haven't haggled for. so it makes thier over priced new fiesta look a good deal.
now im sure you could go and haggle a few quid off the used nearly new pre registered ones and make your current deal on the new one look less attractive.
£12k for a new small car that isnt anything special is over the odds in my book, but each to thier own, if you value the "new car experience" then good for you.
my focus was purchased brand new, the only reason it was is because i got the use of fords priveledge purchase scheme (when it was good) saving £3500 off the price of it. this still wasnt cheaper than second hand ones at the time, it was the same price as one 6 months old with a lesser spec, and that was me haggling on the used one. so if i didnt haggle it made my deal look fantastic....work permit granted!0 -
Thing is at the moment, your less likely to get a good discount on a used one than a new one.
Today, they have taken my Fiesta Style 2008 plate for £5500. They will put it on the forecort for roughly £6299. They will not reduce that by a fat lot, maybe a couple of hundred quid?
At the moment, used car prices have been inflated big time. They are in demand.
I think Ford do overprice their list prices. But to be honest £11800 for a brand new car thats at the top end of the small car market is good value, especially with the amount of toys this car has.
Also with the stock situation of the Fiesta's at the moment you would be hard stretched to find a pre-reg at most dealers around here. I asked at bristol street motors today and they checked their nationwide system aswell as their European compounds, and guess what? No Pre-regs.
I was hard pressed to find a brand new Zetec or Titanium, never mind a pre reg one. Dont forget they are only allowed to sell it as a " brand new pre reg " if its less than 30 days old, otherwise its classed as used.0 -

how much was your 08 fiesta style when you bought it?
im sorry but i just don't see the value in a fiesta at that price. each to thier own i suppose....work permit granted!0 -

Go on then, point me to a preg reg Zetec with bluetooth for less than £10,100. Also, got a good part-ex value on mine and no hassle with moving finance.0 -

Fair point on the used car haggling. However, I did look at a few and there was little haggling to be had and finance deals not so attractive.0 -
Try these.........

I got my Focus from here. They have loads!! Only feature some of them on their website. They get ex lease cars and some that have not been registered. My car had only 2,000 miles on it and it was just over a year old, it was like new.
And you can't beat Fords quickclear windscreen..Genie

I bought my 08 Fiesta for £6800 19 months ago.
Its going back on the forecort for £500 less, maybe £400 less 19 months later.
The finance deals are pretty bad with used cars unless they have some sort of finance deal on at that time. Apart from Motorpoint in Derby who sell Fiesta Titaniums for around £11 - £12k I cant find anyone else really. The cars at motorpoint have blatently been Hire cars in their previous ownerships because of the sheer volume they have, all with the same plates. I wouldnt touch a previous hire car, regardless of price or discounts.0 -
Only kiddin. I would much rather pay a bit more for a brand new one. Its a sense of feeling that you get with a brand new car in the sense that its yours, and its only ever been yours. You know where its been, and you get a full 3 year warranty with the opportunity for lots of freebies being thrown in.
Thats my reasons.0
