I was lucky enough to grab a great perfume deal on Amazon. My fav perfume on offer at £8.40 instead of the usual price of £22.50 I was really happy. Checking the tracking number, it stated a delivery had been attempted on 31st Dec. I was in all day and no delivery had been attempted. I called and rearranged delivery of next day. Waited all day. But no delivery came. I called the following day and complained I'd had to change arrangements to be in, and my parcel wasn't delivered. The lady I spoke to said there was no record of it. I was promised faithfully it would be delivered the next day. The lady even said on the phone "I'll book it while your on the phone, so you know it's been done." Next day, still no delivery. I called again and was told "As soon as we find your item it will be delivered" My parcel was lost. Several calls later and still my parcel wasn't found. I was advised to call Amazon. Ended with me getting a refund. I wasn't happy. Was really looking forward to getting that perfume.0

I placed an order with New Look on Tuesday 18th January. I got an email on 19th to say my order had been shipped, delivery time 3 - 5 days (from order date). I expected my order to arrive by Sunday 23rd January since HDL deliver 7 days a week. My parcel never arrived so I tracked my order online yesterday and the parcel has been held at my local depot since Friday 21st.
I contacted the local depot to ask when I should expect my parcel to be delivered. She told me it is a 72 hour delivery and she would put a request out but it is not likely to be delivered until tomorrow (Tuesday). They have had the parcel since Thursday 20th so 72 hour delivery takes it up to Sunday.
So today I tracked the order again and it is still showing as being in the depot. Usually it would state 'loaded onto drivers van'. I contacted the depot again and was told the same thing... She would put a request out but it is not likely to be delivered until tomorrow. I said I was told that yesterday and I want the parcel to be delivered today. She took my contact number and I have just received a call to say they can't locate the parcel although it is showing that it is in their depot so they are going to do a full depot search. If the parcel turns up, they will deliver it tomorrow. That's another day waiting, shouldn't they make it a priority since they have not delivered the parcel in their 72 hour time scale (They have had the parcel since Thursday 20th).
How long should I expect to wait before I request a full refund or replacement of the missing order from the retailer? The items I purchased were for a birthday gift which is now late and it seem's to me like the parcel has been stolen.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
A few weeks ago I had a delivery from HDNL (a £5 hat from Uniqlo) which was fine - I had a card left through the door, went on the website and booked a redelivery for the following Saturday which arrived without issue.
Unfortunately I have recently ordered a high value electrical item from HMV which they have also decided to send via HDNL, and now I am having problems. Their website says it was received at the Leamington depot last Friday morning, for delivery on or before Monday 14th Feb. No delivery has been attempted and the last tracking on their website was the arrival at the depot on Friday 11th.
Yesterday I called the main HDNL customer service number and spoke to someone who sounded like they were in the middle of a busy warehouse, I gave them my reference number and they basically told me they had sent a chase through the system and if nothing happened in 48 hours phone someone else...
Today I found the number for the Leamington depot on Google (01926 311517) and called them, after giving my reference and being on hold for 5+ minutes I was told they would have to perform a "depot search". They took my contact number but when I asked if they could tell me how long it would take, I was told "No we can't..."
I need this item by the end of next week for my brother's birthday, it's a pain enough that I live in Coventry and the Leamington depot is a 25+ mile round trip away without all this hassle...Stay away from that Trap Door, 'cause there's something down there... :eek:0 -
It's unfortunate but true that HDNL simply lie. Principally because their drivers are given unrealistic volumes to deliver in one day, so they will do anything they can to either get rid of the parcel or make up reasons for non delivery.
I ordered a monitor from Amazon on Monday using Prime for delivery on Tuesday. It never arrived. The tracking entry and just before 7pm (when the deliveries stop) was "Incorrect Address" It wasn't incorrect, is the address that house has always had and can easily be verified on the Royal Mail website. But because I live in a very rural area, it's often a long way off their normal routes, so they'd rather not deliver to me.
I complained to Amazon, confirmed that the delivery address was correct and because I was out on Wednesday (hence why I wanted it for Tuesday) got it rescheduled for Thursday. It turned up at 5.50pm. What was most interesting was that the parcel had no sticker or anything to say "Incorrect Address" and there was no change to the address on the parcel. So all of a sudden an incorrect address became a correct address. Magic eh?
This isn't the first time I've had problems with HDNL. They really are a bunch of cowboys. Because they deliver primarily to homes they think they can get away with things. And you have to pay 10ppm to complain. Which I didn't. Much better to complain to Amazon.0 -
Has anyone managed to get a refund from HDNL for an item which HDNL claim to have delivered to a neighbour, but the neighbour claims that this is not the case? (No calling card was left but the supplier of my item sent me a 'proof of delivery' which contained an illegible signature but no name)...0

You need to contact whoever you ordered the item from and claim from them. They will in turn claim from HDNL/Yodel.BTW-neighbours are known to lie and keep items but I am not suggesting yours did.0

Unfortunately I have never had a good experience with HDN packages have a habit of being stuck through my letter box, even though they should be signed for and I am sitting in my living room and if they rang the bell I would answer. Always funny that it states I have signed for the parcel when I haven't on the tracking info. Anyway I am sitting here at 4.20pm on a Saturday afternoon waiting for a guaranteed delivery with twindling hope that it will actually arrive today. Especially as when tracking my package it only states that the parcel was sorted at their hub last night. No mention of it being out for delivery. This was a time critical delivery, hence the guaranteed delivery.0
