How does that work Mr Rincewind ???MrRincewind wrote: »From when the OP was made on the afternoon of the 09.11.09 and to when the resolution was offered yesterday, The time span is not bad,
A couple of days on a monitored board is pretty good,
The resolution was an email saying that the contract was still in force untill the phone turns up ????
What sort of resolution was that ???
Why do you choose to ignore the advice that was given on here such as ignore what the rep says, deal with it yourself, contact the network, put everything in hard copy, distance selling regulations, contact the Ops Mgr, calander events, put in writing, recorded delivery, fax the network, etc etc
Was that not advice that was given on here by other members ?????
Try reading the posts properly before jumping to conclusions
Please note the quotes are all included in this one reply as are most of them
It is a help forum which is why posters are given help and advice on here by people who know how this outfit operate, just because you know how they operate does not mean the OP in such cases does, which is why we go over old ground each time
The posts are made for the benefit of the OP and other newbies not for your benefit and I do not see any instances of "I told you so" on here.
Yes there are those of us who can predict whats going to transpire by the actions of this company and maybe from time to time we will refer to it but it emphasises the fact that there is nothing unique in the appauling service that this company offer
It's not just about the money0 -

You are correct of course I am offering no helpful advice much like the majority of posts on this thread,.....
You say "was a quote needed".
How better to succinctly demonstrate your hypocrisy?0 -
Thanks, the phone is locked as i rang orange to say id cancelled the contract,so dont know why theyve sent me another bill!mobilejunkie wrote: »"Resolutions" have been offered to numerous people finding their way onto here - achieving it is rather less common. I see no post where any resolution in this instance has been achieved. Of course, the rep would like people to believe him - even though there is very little evidence on any of these threads as to why anyone should and volumes of why they should not!0 -
Hi jules,I sent it back to mobs.co.uk and have received a cheque for postage, but still await the £21.69 from Orange! And ive received another bill in the post from Orange, luckily ive cancelled the direct debit so they cant take anymore money from me.
MJ is quite right cancelling the DD is a risky thing regarding credit rating, did you speak to Orange regarding this beforehand ?
Did you by chance receive anything in writing confirming the contract had been cancelled ?It's not just about the money0 -
Presumably he means blocked rather than locked? Also presumably that means he has so should be ok.0

Hi Oneaday,
The problem is that the phone was cancelled the day before it was despatched for whatever reason (probably to try to continuue the order) mobiles.co.uk decided to carry on instead of pulling the order.
Whatever happens to that phone is of no concern to the OP .
Why on earth should delosfive be held liable for the phone untill it turns up ?????
You don't know that.
I order something from Amazon and change my mind, sometimes they can stop the order if its not been dispatched. I order from another online retailer and they have no such mechanism in place and I end up receiving the item and returning it myself.
Its the way internet works - so people calm down and let the courier return the item - problem solved.
This forum fills with people moaning about the company - fair enough but bear in mind what the first post is about. Someone orders something, changes their mind, cannot get through to the company (given the company is carp at customer services) and then finally gets something done after visiting this forum.
Now all that has to happen is the customer will hopefully not receive the item, the courier will have no proof of delivery, the contract might have commenced under the mobiles.co.uk way of doing things (which are wrong) but as long as the courier do their bit and return the item to mobiles.co.uk, the customer has nothing to worry about.
If he / she does get invoiced or charged - do not pay and let them take it court and prove a phone was delivered but its no way near that stage.0 -
If they do that they will get into severe difficulty. Not paying will blemish their credit record badly since the contract is with the network and suing would take an age. One of the many experiences on this site with this dealer is that they 1) set up the contract at the point of despatch (theoretically - in practice even this can and does go wrong sometimes) and 2) don't cancel the contract as they should (see Silk's experiences).0

Look for the upteenth time - the phone has not been delivered, there is no signature to show delivery. No matter if a contract is started or not, the customer cannot be held to any charges, a simple judge would throw them into the river.
Basic common sense - someone has rung the customer to say contract will be cancelled on receiving the phone back (from courier) so just wait and let the process go through rather than coming up with scenarios of what might or might not happen.0 -
Good grief - you still haven't learned! "the judge" wouldn't get to even look at it for MONTHS. The contract is set up by the dealer long before the phone could possibly be delivered. Ringing the dealer is usually a complete waste of time - as is relying on what they may tell you. And the scenario in this case was yours, not mine!0

Yeah I have learnt not to listen to whingers who continously hijack threads saying the same things and causing extra worry to the OP.0
