Just to alert those who use the above to the fact that the ingredients have been changed-it now has less fat, less soya beans, must cost less to manufacture and tastes awful!! Needless to say the price is the same-tastes like they have taken a normal carton and diluted it by half.
I have bought this for years and bought a box of 12 last week. Opened the 1st one and thought it was "off". Compared nutritional content with previous carton and the penny dropped. Nothing on the packaging stating "New improved" or similar.
Can anyone recommend a nice soya milk please?........0 -
Has anyone found a non dairy milk that tastes more like skimmed milk- know its an odd question, but had been drinking skimmed for nearly 10 years, semi is too creamy. But I have been advised to try an exclusion diet and dairy has to go at some point.....
I love milk in tea, but can really really taste Alpro-Soya milk (even in tea) and do not like it! Also tried rice milk (like water -didn't even colour the tea! and has no protein which I don't like). Just tried the 0.5% and the semi skimmed versions of 'Lacto Free', but found them both too creamy and they also tasted of cardboard (which I find a probem with many types of long-life milk).
Has anyone any suggestions to try?

I am with you, the old aldi soya WAS absolutely the best soya available in my opinion (at 7.2% soya it was even creamier tasting than alpro, which I think has gone down to about 6.8%). It has loads of added ingredients now, just like all the others and tastes BAD. I have been doing my own research and have tried to find a comparable one. I tried Lidl, co-op value, co-op standard unsweetened, waitrose sweetened, waitrose unsweetened, waitrose organic unsweetened, alpro sweetened and unsweetened, and a couple of Morrisons ones, I even tried making it myself. Nothing I have found has been so good as the old Aldi one, but waitrose unsweetened was the closest in my opinion, but still has all those added ingredients to compensate for lack of soya beans. I wrote to Aldi to complain about 2 weeks ago, but they have not replied to me yet. I did return my new batch to the store, and it seemed to me that they weren't at all suprised - perhaps they have had quite a few returns. How have you got on finding a replacement Emuchops?
Not well at all-have tried So Good---great name-"So Good" compared to what?-terrible, and Asdas own-rubbish. Think i'm going to have to learn to embrace the cow milk again-think I will try long life as that has a "creamier" taste as I recall. Heard nothing yet from Aldi in response to my letter of complaint.......0 -
We also love Aldi soya and buy it a case at a time. Still got half a case left but will go today and look at the latest stock. I have to admit that we buy it mainly for the price. I find soya on my breakfast cereal really helps with menopausal symptoms and it's simply wonderful when used to make porridge.0

I don't like soya in drinks, but I love it in porridge and soups. I'm using ALDI but it is a while since I bought the last lot.
I can't have sweetened as I am diabetic, so I am watching this thread carefully for any suggestions for alternatives once my current stash of ALDI soya milk has been used upI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Today I have ordered 12 provamel unsweetened to be delivered on Friday as it has 7.2% hulled soya bean content and no additives. Unfortunately it is only available in health food shops and online, and is more expensive. I will deliver my verdict as soon as I can.0

My boyfriend and I have been buying the aldi soya milk for years and are angry they have changed this without any changes in the labelling. Maybe they thought we wouldnt notice. I havent found another similar soya milk, so will be interested in any feedback on new finds.
We have also written a complaint letter to aldi. I am hoping they will see a drop in their sales of this product. I will let you know if I hear anything back from them.0 -
My girlfriend is lactose intolerant. We have been buying Aldi's Soya Delight for years and then one day they decided to dilute it and now it tastes awful!!! We had tried all Soya milk brands and decided Soya Delight WAS the best because of its taste and creaminess. had to return a batch as we thought it was off but then we read the ingredients. Same price but almost half the amount of soya. They thought we wouldn't notice....but how wrong were they!!!
Have written to them....looking forward to their response.0 -
I would advise everyone who has had a problem with the soya milk to either write to Aldi or go in to complain. The more complaints they get, the more likely they are to change it back.0

Well-I got my response.....
"Thankyou for your letter dated 09/11/09, regarding your disappointment with the Soya Delight Drink.
We would like to confirm that Aldi changed supplier of this product as of the 12th October 2009, we have passed your comments on to our buying department.
Thank you againn for your support and I hope that you will continue to be one of our valued Aldi Customers."
Seriously thats it. Am I reading it wrong or are they taking the p***-no apology, no compensation, even for the price of a stamp-Just acting like Ive given them useful customer feedback. I'm really annoyed now and thinking of boycotting all their goods due to their laissez faire attitude. So they changed their supplier (to someone cheaper methinks) and we all have to accept their substandard products...wrong.0
