I seem to be following G-J round.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year PAP. xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Thanks Pen, G-J & Bob... I hope you all have had a fab new year too, wishing you all the best for 2010 :beer:Hi PaP - so sorry I missed your birthday.
Sounds as if it went well. :T :T
What's 'momiji' ?
Hope you have a great New Year.
Happy new year RogI hope you had a lovely day yesterday and said 'goodbye' to 2009. As always wishing you a fab year and I hope your wishes come true :A
Ahh momiji are small freindship 'dolls' that I have forever been admiring from afar. When I started losing weight I decided to buy one for ever 30lbs I lost. I was given a doll at start and have brought two since. For christmas a forum user brought me a christmas doll and then for birthday other foum users brought me a cup and doll so my collection is growing. You can see them here although my avatar is of a discontinued one I am looking for on ebayRandom but they are lovely...
So as promised an update on money etc...
My debt still stands at £290.00. I havent paid anything off it for a while as I am now waiting for my 100 days challenge (8th Jan) to start. However as you can see above I have payed well over £100 in the last 4 weeks so its not too bad. I also have my DS ending in the next week so i can put that towards it.
Money wise I am not doing too badly, however the £40 I placed in my acount yesterday has been spentI was given a bit more cash today for my birthday so I decided to get a new hamster cage and bits today. Mainly because he is a dwarf and was in a 'normal' cage so it wasnt environmetally friendly. While there however we decided to go into Matalan and another clothes shops where I knew there would be sales. So I managed to purchase some new tops at fairly cheap prices ~ £1/£2/£3. However they are all the size I am/going into so I am hoping that this will be the last clothes I buy. If not the outlay wasnt huge and I hope I can ekk them out for a few months. Its not all bad though because this is all the birthday money I recieved so I am not spending my wages :j
So I now have the remaining money in my bills account. This is all accounted for with my last few direct debit to go out. I then have £49.60 in my 'spends' from the 64 day challenge. This money I have no plans for, however I do need to pay to send my DS. Anything left over on the 14th will all be sent to Argos before payday
Thats about it really... I did put my 'resolutions' on the daily chat so i thought I would copy them here ~
* To get to goal ~ This is 100lbs lost however bmi 25 would be fab too. either one means this one is complete...
* To start exercising/get a bike ~ I mentioned this in my 'old' diary. When I was overweight i loved cycling, either on a fitness bike or a normal bike. So I will one day own either/both. Although I could grab one now heavily reduced I want to save for it and pay cash...
* Become debt free ~ Ok this wont take me long but its a small thing I want to achive. The most important is getting through 2010 without more debt. However that will be easy...
* Start saving (again!) ~ So the again! thing says it all really. I want to save again but properly this time. My plan is to have a sealed tin to just add to whenever, which I have now. Then I will have a seperate piggy bank for 'purchases' to save for, like the bike above. And finally in the new tax year I will open an isa with my main bank so paying into it will be easier...
So thats me going into 2010... I hope this new year is brilliant for everyone on dfw/mse. There are so many people that require a change of circumstance and direction that I hope this year and this new decade is one of those times. Take care all :A
Ohhh and dont forget to PLOD0 -
Hi there Pap I have seen you on many other threads but never really read your before. So well done on knowing you had to come back to the MSE discipline, to get you debt free again.
I hope that your health improves so that you can work full time again.
And well done on the weight loss that must be a really life changing amount to lose
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Thanks Chev :grinheart
So here is my 'end of the week' update ~
29th, 30th, 31st 1st & 2nd ~ nsd (I did spend in the 31st/1st however that was brithday money/spends)
3rd ~ £4.00 yankee tarts
That leaves my 64 day challenge at the 3rd (day 51) as £45.90
6 Week Pleadges...
Week 4 ~
* Pay at least another £100 off my debt ~ £0.00- Total £126.36
* Keep up the spending diary All week ~ 4/6
* Spend no more than £5 a week on myself (excludes my birthday) ~ £4/£5 - Total £16.82/£20
* Exercise at least 3 times a week ~ Monday, Thursday, Sunday 4/6
* Read at least 2 books ~ One done, Two done,
* Make sure I get to bed at a reasonable time, ie before midnight ~ M.T.W.T.F.S.S 4/6
~~~
Nothing much to add really... My ds has sold so thats has been sent today and I have transferred out the paypal money. After 'repaying' myself the money used to send the item I will hopefully have about £45 to throw at the debt :j
Having a bit of trouble with my bank accounts at the moment. They are both showing payments 'pending' yet nothing is due to come out of themI dont know if its a glitch or an oversee on my part but its helping with nsd's. I dont want to take money out/use my card and incurr charges :rolleyes:
Hope everyone has a fab week :beer: Keep on plodding0 -
Thanks Sally and Beanie... just keep going :T Somedays will seem like a struggle but you are still going somewhere. Oh and this has to be my fave quote for 'plodding' ~
Nobody trips over mountains! It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble! Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain! ~Author Unknown
So good day really, I have spent a few bits and bobs and I brought myself some books so I have gone over the £5 this week but I did also buy an unexpected gift for a friendLooking at the bigger picture though its not too bad.
I have also planned a few things to do these two weeks. I was originally planning on staying in but I am crawling the walls. So I am off to Bath, will take the dog for long country walks, I may go to the Zoo (£13) and I realy want to go to the cinema (£6.20). All in all it may mean my 64 day challenge is all eaten up... But its 2 weeks that I can easily repay it back off the debt. Plus I should get my overtime payment this month which will mean a chunk of debt gonePlus of course I could get snowed in, in which case none will happen anyways :rotfl:
The real reason I wanted to post was I have sorted a SOA for later in the year. I am still on my diet but its winding down now so I am hoping by payday in May I will be off the diet packs. That will give me this SOA ~
May ~ Income £500.00 (without overtime, includes tax, Ni, union and Pension)
£170.00 ~ Rent
£16.00 ~ House ins
£12.50 ~ Line rental
£44.00 ~ Bus ticket
£10.00 ~ t v
£21.00 internet savings (pay quarterly)
Total - £273.50
= £226.50 left :eek:
Now I plan to save (I will be debt free by then) £150 of that as I havent really missed itthat will leave £75 for me to use as I desire. The rent has increased and would then include food, I have told Mum I want more salads/white meat/fish avalible and she has said monthly we can go get all I need etc for my maintance plan. However I want to use some of the £75 for 'treats' so cooked chickens and extra veg/soup ingrediants etc. I also want a slow cooker so that wil be purchased in May or April.
Working it out if I can save the £150 from May till November that will give me £1,050 in savingsNot a bad amount to end the year on. Plus I want to do a spereate pot for my excercise bike etc... Although I may have already started that
Ohhh and if I get overtime/fulltime hours these will automatically be put into savings and not touched. I plan to carry on (while living at home) surviving on a £500 SOA :T My dream in 2011 is to purchase a car and pay for one years insurance. The car I would like is £700 and the insurance is £600 but I still want at least a £1000 cushion after buying the car :rotfl:
Dreams, plans and ambitions... Got to look forward to something while plodding :T0 -
Hi PAP
I posted earlier but seems to have disappeared
Love the quote and your End of Week summary. I plan to do an end of the month one, but might borrow your weekly one too, if you don't mind ?
Enjoy your days out and continued debt-busting,Mac x
Hi MacOf course I dont mind you borrowing anything I do on my diary. If it helps you stay on track/pay off debt then help yourself. My 6 week plan helps me stay focussed on changing a few things at a time rather than doing it all in one go. Oh and I put my spending diry on here to keeps me accountable. If I had to come on here and post that i brought a magazine for £4 I know I wont buy it :rotfl:
Oh yes, enjoy your debt busting too, you only get to be on this journey once0 -
