  • I called 0845 075 2233 and quoted reference 340, and got through to a really hopeful person who sorted out my order. My 7260 is coming on Monday!
  • Hang on a mo, the letter that we returned stated:

"Because we recognise that our mistake will have disappointed you, we now wish to offer you the opportunity to exchange the goods that you have received for a printer at no additional cost to you"

But now, they are not 'exchanging' the goods and are asking us to pay 'additional costs' (albeit temporarily) for a printer that we have already paid for. I appreciate that an exchange would put responsibility on to the driver to ensure the returned goods were correct, and that they have indeed said they will refund the databar via the receipt number.

But what fun and games we could have getting it?
  • just rang the number on the email and whoever answers has to put you through to a number dealing specifically with this issue. At first there was no answer and the original woman came back on and said they must be busy.I then told her to try again and i will hang on till it got answered or i got fed up waiting. In the end i waited about 10 mins then got answered by the correct department and a very helpful lady.Delivery was arranged for monday and i was charged £23.94 onto my card.It wasnt a problem that i had already taken the databar back to index for a refund. Result. If it turns up.

If you are worried then do as I did. Ask if you can just take it to your local store (only if convenient I suppose) and get a refund there. I am planning to do that the week I get my printer back...
Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:
  • steady on everyone what they are doing is billing us for a new printer £19:99 plus p&p 23 pound odds
then when they pick up the usb thing you get i receipt for the usb thing and you claim back your refund of £19:99 plus p&p
I only know this because i received my printer today, not tommorrow as arranged with index but never the less i have it.
it is not however a photosmart 7260 it is a photosmart 7450 seems to be a better model if not it is of equal stature i done a search on kelkoo and found a store with both printers and done a compare.

    hi
I have gave up on index been trying since monday and waiting for a call
back, rang again today and she rang me back but I missed the call, she
said she has'nt received my letter and to ring back which I have been
doing for 30 minutes now, its really just to warn people some of the letters
    have gone missing.
  • Just got off the phone to Index (having waited 15mins for them to answer)
Picking my memory stick up on Monday then printer gets delivered Tuesday. I then have to phone back the same number to get my refund. I think its crazy the way this company works. Both days I have to wait in 8 AM TO 6.30PM for them to come. Talk about @rse about face!
  • Just of the phone to a very helpful Index !

I was one of the ones who had returned the databar (and been refunded) after having been told by phone that there was 'no way' that the original offer would be honoured only to receive a letter 13 days letter offering me the printer - which I accepted!

Seems to be a lot of confusion at Index over the mechanics of the offer and I was told that to get the printer you need to call in, create a new order and pay again. They check your postcode and surname to verify that letter was issued and accepted.

Delivery is for Monday so I'll wait and see what happens.

I have just got off the phone to Index and delivery on Monday I have already had my refund as I sent the pen drive back, but they stated no problem and will charge the £23.94 again. I did ask as to which model the printer was as it stated 1 of similar spec and she said it was the HP 1.
