  • getting mine on tuesday and they will pickup the stick also:D
  • Just gave index a call on the number emailed to me. As soon as I mentioned 340 I was put straight through to someone in internet customer services (I can't remember her name). I think I then said two words and the order was almost done. I asked her have you done this before :) On thinking about it now maybe I shouldn't have.

She said this is a 'MAJOR' problem for us, and this is why you are through to me and not the regular sales team. She was very helpful though, and all was done in a couple of mins. The handy bit is she said the memory devices will be collected on delivery, both Tuesday.

    Roll on Tuesday then!

    I'm dizzy :D

Printer turning up on Tuesday, but had to pay again. So I think, for a day or so?, they'll have £47.88 of my money  but when it's delivered, they'll refund £23.94. I think.

No, they will, (but I'll keep an eye on it lol) so I'll have a printer and my original money back.

    Thanks again whoop-dee-doo :)

(The fact they kept the money made me think they were always going to honour this by the way).
  • By the way I forgot to mention: I didnt get a 7260, I got a 7450, which is better/newer anyway.
  • Got a lovely new HP 7450 today- day earlier than agreed with the delightful Sheila at Index. USB stick could not be returned with the delivery man as it was not allowed, because index are expecting it tomorrow. Second delivery man being sent tomorrow for collection.

Index must have lost thousands on this mistake. especially with deliveries and collections being made at sepearate times.

Off to have play with it now - Best of luck to anyone still waiting.

  • Just had an amusing conversation with index customer services.Rang the number like everyone else has had to and explained email and quoted ref 340........and received 5 mins of " oh you wont get that printer it was a mistake on the website,or was the catalogue but I can give you a refund for your datakey if you want"... ....

Kept telling him Ref 340 and got told dont know why you keep saying that as it means nothing to me............

Asked for supervisor etc then all of a sudden a nice gentle voice of a lady called Lyndsey came on the line with all the correct answers and delivery dates ....etc...:D
Delivery next Thursday for my convenience and postage knocked off the price I had to pay as I will be taking the datakey back to an index shop for a refund and they may argue about postage so she took it off for me first.....

You have got to give them credit for trying again not to change it but just as IF I had changed my mind this far down the line.........

Mine's just turned up today (HP 7450) it should have been Monday but I'm not complaining.
No idea when they'll collect the databar though.

yeah me too i have just received my 2 printers 7450's also they refunded me the money i was owed for a data bar and p&p they then took the money for the printers but not the postage ha ha:D
  • HP 7450 arrived today - 3 days early and not the 7260 originallly ordered, but I'm not complaining !

When all's said and done its well done to the OP for the tip and also to Index for honouring the deal - albeit after a fair amount of pressure.

Just spare a thought for the 'person' to blame for the pricing error and lets hope that they are still in a job after all of this.
