just like to say a big thank you to Aliasojo and any other moneysaving expert members who have helped
hopfully we should recieve printers soon
this is really good as i had almost give up0 -
Well, thank you for the thank you.
I'm only one of many who tackled Index and without everyone banding together I expect we would still be fighting this now. Everyone who made the effort to take some kind of action deserves credit.
Point to note about 'an alternative item'.......the price is irrelevent, it is the spec that is important.
So as long as the substitute is 'of the same specification or better' then the price wont come into it. That's not how this kind of thing is decided. I haven't had time to compare the printers mentioned in Dave's post above, does anyone know which is similar spec?Herman - MP for all!0 -
I got the letter today too. However, I wasn't expecting it as I asked for a refund, which coincidentally appeared on my CC today (P&P inc as well).
Personally I'm happy with the refund and am therefore giving up any claim I had on the printer. So gang, there'll be one extra! Yipppee!
Well done to all of you for your fantastic patience, but before breathing a sigh of relief, just remember that no one (as far as I am aware) has a printer yet... I hope you all do get one, but the with the number of ups and downs that have taken place with this whole sordid affair, it wouldn't surprise me if there was another twist in the tale!0 -
Hello,
Well, not sure if watchdog got involved with this one or not but who knows... just glad a lot of us wrote loads of letters and e-mails... paid off! What news was this in? Someone was saying earlier?
I didn't bother changing the stan,p to first - thought about it though. However, it being Saturday tomorrow I doubt anyone will process it until Monday anyway. Good thinking though.
Oh, and at the bottom of my letter I made sure I wrote "of equivelent value or quality to the original printer" just in case they were thinking of giving us some bad Lexmark make or something!
Another fight won!
Here's to the next one...Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
I have received the letter too, i had ordered 5 printers, they offer to swap two of the memory sticks for printers, does this mean i can still return the other 3 for a refund ??
It says ' if you wish to retain the goods you received with an exchange for two of them' fill in and return accepatnce.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?
That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.0 -

i sent off the signed letter plus an additional one from me saying i will accept the offer in their letter as long as if i have to have an alternative it has to meet the same specifications and quality of the one i ordered lets see what happens now :rolleyes:0 -
I have received the letter, but I have already returned the data bar, and my refund has been issued. I have sent the letter of anyway, and I will just have to see what will come of it.0

I got the letter... almost there?.
Mind you the HP7260 Index 'correctly listed' elsewhere on the website was out of stock for home delivery, there was only stock left in the stores. The store stock should have now been allocated to honour our orders, but for how many? Out of curiosity, do they show any in stock in your store? (110/185)
What will "a suitable alternative" be? If they offer an alternative based on what we paid, then what would you get? If they offer an alternative based on spec. then perhaps it will be the HP7450, (the successor in the Index range to ours) which being the only other 'Photosmart' printer, is the logical choice. Argos were practically giving them away in December.
Don't worry though, when you receive a printer it will be on the 16 day home approval..... A game they may well be playing to get you to agree to "a suitable alternative" which if not wanted can then be returned for credit, and...they have their sticks back!. You might not think it is a suitable alternative but will you persist?
A bit sceptical maybe but Sarfaraz's post mentioning "another twist in the tale" could well be true. Would you put it past them?0
