Welcome to no. 80 DIYPhil :T
I love it when newbies (to posting) join the challenge, I'm not sure why0 -
Right, after much deliberation about this I've decided to ask if I can join too.
I was reluctant at first because I can't afford to pay off thousands each year but I've decided it's time for me to wave the flag for the smaller over payers out there!!!
Could you put me down for £700 please....2010 MFW Number 81:

Welcome no. 82. CrushedKitten72 :TAny overpayment (OP) target welcome :money:0 -
I just moved house and I'm actually £53,000 further away from being mortgage free than I was a few months ago, but I'd like to register my intent to overpay £3,600 in 2010.
My new mortgage is a capped tracker, currently at 2.99%, so as long as rates don't shoot up quickly next year my target is hopefully attainable.5 year BOE + 2.49% capped tracker (cap 5.99%)
MFW 2012 #51 OP: £4,244/4,500 (94% complete)
MFW 2013 #51 OP: £5,126/5,000 (102.5% complete)
Mort. free with/without OP: 2023/2029
Quidco: £417 / Topcashback: £105 / £2 jar: £3200 -
Okay time to stop lurking and officially declare my intentions in black and white. So please can I officially join in ?
Have just remortgaged to an Offset with First Direct, supposed to be 8 years left, so ideally want to clear it in 4 maybe 5. Not sure what I can achieve, as not even made first payment yet, but have transferred some money into offset accounts and will add more as my fixed term saving come to an end.
Starting with £97999, so lets hope for at least £77999 left by end of 2010 ??0 -

I've set ourselves a challenge of £5,000 overpayment by end of 2010 and this will be an extra incentive to do it.
