I'd love to join the challenge! (I have filled in the google docs form) One question, is the target amount just the overpayments or all monies paid to the mortgage including the minimum payment?
If just the overpayments my target is 13 000 (Aussie dollars)
If both minimum and overpayments it's 21 814...
Cheers

That's a brilliant idea, now why didn't I think of that?
I'm really excited now, I was begining to wonder where I was going to get the extra pennies from.
I will check that out this weekend.
Thank you0 -

Welcome no. 102 canne and no. 103 Gazella77 :T
Your target can be whatever you want it to bebut we don't normally include the minimum payment. Also some people include any amounts put aside in a savings account being kept to pay off the mortgage later e.g. because their mortgage interest rate is less than the savings or they've reached the maximum overpayment.

Although I've been quiet on the forum since the summer (working too hard), I've continued with my overpayments in 2009 and achieved my target at the beginning of December. So roll on 2010. Cake21 - well done for taking on the 2010 roll call and huge thanks to zavarony for completing 2009

Hello!
After a long time lurking I've finally plucked up the courage and would like to join this challenge please.
Little about me: am SAHM to lovely 2 year old boy with another baby on the way - due April. We have a 22 yr mortgage at 0.75% above base rate and have just started to overpay £100 per month.
I feel likeI'vd taken my eye off the financial ball this year and have been overspending on food and bills - so am preparing to knuckle down in 2010 (well - as much as you can do with a new baby!)
So - my target of OP this year will be £15,000 please
This is a hard target for us but I'm keen to take advantage of these low rates as I'm not convinced they'll last!
Thanks

Hi all
have just filled in the joining form and have decided on a target of £2500 for the year. I may be able to aim higher when I have got exact figs for amount owed on mortgage but wanted to take the first step.0
