OP for this month is £50.00, taking me to £1700 so far this year.
Gonna try for £2000, if I can manage it before the end of the year. Lots of birthdays coming up though.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0 -
After a "blip" earlier in the year due to holidays, have now got back on track with regular OP of £300 a month automatically and am putting anything left in the account at the end of the month in as well. I am reducing the term each time and trying to make the most of my 2% over base rate SVR. Term is now down to 15 years (from 20 two years ago) and I am on target to pay it off in 7 years!0

Only the overpayment that's set up as part of our direct debit this month. OH out of work and still got 0% CC to pay off over next two months.
So our total for September is £160, taking our 2010 total to £10160.
If OH has no news on the employment front within the next couple of weeks I'll instruct Nationwide to change direct debit back down to standard payment for a while- I can always transfer the money myself if we have any spare.
Thanks to Cake for your super efficient work on this board.:T:T.

MFW #48 reporting in
Ninth overpayment of 2010 made on the 15th September 2010
Overpayment target: £2760
August overpayment : £400
Overpayments to date: £2550
My overall mortgage status is now:
Mortgage at 16/09/2010
Outstanding balance: £51,036
Estimated endowment value: £24,970 (next revaluation date 1 October)
Investments: £13,892 (these have charged on in the last month,)
Deficit: -£12,174 (this was -£13,216 just a month ago...)
My overpayments since Jan 09 will also save me an estimated £1,013 before my target MF date of September 2014.
My overpayment reserve is £5,550, well over 15 months regular mortgage payments.
With the increase in the investments, two more overpayments will enable me to reassess my MF date of September 2014, with a stretch target of September 2012 now within reach.
Hope everyone else is on target (well done Poppy Oscar!). Going to spend the weekend catching up with everyone's successes.

Just phoned Lloyds and asked them to switch my mortgage so the monthly payments will come down each month instead of just the term shortening - much prefer the idea of that, seems to offer a more tangible incentive, and one I can see each month, will hopefully be a great feeling if I can get my monthly payments to keep going down bit by bit...
Just over 5% of my mortgage amount paid off in total now, which in about half a year I'm really happy with!!0 -
Well just made Septembers payment, my second big £500 one for the year. I was lagging a bit behind previously for far too many reasons, too much unnecessary spending, odd bits that needed to be paid for that were unexpected and Mrs Simbak2k was expected to go back to college for 2 years to study but now has a paid placement! The last one makes a huge different as we had been saving hard to cover her expenses for the next 2 years but the expenses will now be covered by her employer and we will have 2 wages coming in instead of 1. Hopefully that means I can not only reach my target nicely but beat my target in the final 3 months of the year.
I look forward to receiving the letter from Nationwide recalculating my mortgage term in the next week or so. At the moment we have a staggering 31 years remaining! and while we are quite young I'd love to get the mortgage down by about 10 years.
Well done on everyones progress.0
