            Superb pencekeeper :T.
What are your plans now?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort Mortgage Balance = £0 Mortgage Balance = £0 "Do what others won't early in life so you can do what others can't later in life"0 "Do what others won't early in life so you can do what others can't later in life"0

Now at the 1 month to go mark, it's hard to believe I'm almost there. What am I going to obsess about when the mortgage is paid off? I'm sure I'll think of something!
£2000 overpayment + £14 mortgage payment (£7.66 of which is interest):
 Old Mortgage balance: £3,675
New Mortgage balance: £1,665 (£25,335 paid off since start of 2010) - 55% balance payment this month
 Milestone achieved: 1 month left
 Milestone achieved: Penultimate payment
Milestone achieved: <£0.20 interest a day (was 25p, now 11.4p)
 Milestone achieved: <£50 interest a year & <£5 interest a month
 Target: 29th October 2010 (30 days)
Well done to everyone overpaying whether it's £1 or £1million.
Loving this Pencekeeper! The milestones are fantastic and I can fully get on board with the impatient watching and waiting! We've got a raft of home improvements to kick on with after the mortgage but I look forward to seeing what you come up with to amuse yourself. Any treats planned to celebrate the very end?
 Cheers,

Cheers Billy - I know we're in a similar boat mortgage wise and look forward to your payment post in a few days
Post mortgage goals are a little boring I'm afraid as I really need to build my savings back up while I can given that they've gone down to a few grand as part of my pay down the mortgage efforts. Due to health problems both my job and my general employability prospects are very poor so I aim to get a few more thousand behind me if I can before losing the security of a good monthly pay packet.
That said, I've already treated myself to a new external hard drive that I desparately needed on the credit card (I waited until paying it back would come out of October's pay of which there will be some spare). Sounds a small thing but it makes my music/video media much more available to me without leaving electricity hungry PCs on which I try to avoid, and makes a difference to the day. A new mp3 player is also on the cards too, as is surprising close family who know my MF aims but probably don't know how close I am (I've been quiet about how much there is to go for a few months now). Given my health status it will be a more profound event than it perhaps would be for most people.
I might be below the poverty line next year so I can't go too mad, but assuming Nov and Dec pay packets come in, each of those months I plan to save £1500 and give myself the green light to spend up to £500 on stuff as a reward. After over £125,000 paid to the mortgage in the last 4 years and very little spent on me during difficult circumstances I've bloody earned it!0
