made a huge effort in September as we had to delay a mortgage payment last month (didnt miss a month just moved it back by 3 weeks) so we built up more interest than usual - boo!
So managed a whopping £760 overpayment for September - woohoo thats the largest one yet!!!
So total for September:
Sept £760 / YTD £1965 / Target £1500

I am on track to reach my $13000 (Australian Dollars) target by the 14th October...
I'll have to make the target higher next year!The Mortgage Free in Three - Take 2 Challenge (MFiT-T2): #58 - Goal: Get to AU$50 000 by 12/12/12Current balance: $84 6932011 MF Wannabes: #102 - Goal: Overpay mortgage by AU$15 000Total paid for 2011: $2253.160 -
It's a strange realisation (and stranger yet that I hadn't notice before) but, looking at the signature, I realised this morning that we've paid off £100,000 which is £1 more than the house cost us! Now that we've paid the house off, October's payment will be to pay off the couch, fridge freezer and washing machine whilst November will pay off the living room furniture, beds, fancy Denby plates (I remember yet the shock of their cost!!) and hoover - all of which (hoover excepted as it spluttered to a halt at the weekend - is it worth getting a Dyson fixed??) I'm pleased to say has lasted us six and a half years so they've all proven their value.
Cheers,
Billy (#17)Mortgage Free: 28/10/2010Time / Interest Saved: 18.5 years / £61,866.500 -
Well at the end of August I was allowed to overpay again, I've been saving hard and managed to overpay £3603. I still have about £200 before I reach my 10% limit again, the Halifax rolling system seems to be so complicated!
It doesn't look like I'll reach my 10k target this year due to the limits Halifax set but I have reduced my term substantially increasing my monthly payments so I'm sort of over paying each month anyway.
Well done everyone on all your overpayments x0
