As I recall (and I'm going back to the late 90's here) they rehearse once a week for 8 or 9 weeks (used to be Mondays) plus an afternoon rehearsal on the day of the concert. When I was there, members of the public could join but were auditioned (whereas university staff and students could join without an audition). I think of the 8 or 9 rehearsals you were allowed to miss up to two, but if you missed more than that then you weren't allowed to do the concert. Singing in York Minster is an experience, you have to have perfect diction or you can't be heard beyond about the sixth row - and in fact the best acoustic in the whole building is in the ladies' loo :D:D:D

The trouble is he is such a nice bloke my dp doesn't want to offend him. I think I will have tell him tonight that 2 maybe 3 evenings a week is enough

Hey. Tell him, freyaluck, otherwise he'll just carry on . . .?

Two or three evenings sounds plenty to me.
    Where now?

    Hiya everyone.

I haven't been around much this week as i have been so busy. Monday and Tuesday i worked till 10:30 pm doing the SAT marking. (Now finished - thankfully.)

Yesterday i went round to my parents as they were having a tea party for my nephews birthday. So several hours of socialising and eating junk. ;)

Work has been a bit of a pain. We are trying to rewrite all of our lessons for next year. I have been given the lions share of the task on the basis that i will have 4 weeks in september where i am at work and not teaching. (bearing in mind that this will amount to something like 19 days.) DH was rather annoyed as i was given the extra class to teach as the head of department would be writing these, and all he has done is skillfully delegate. My original thought was that i would do some of it during the summer holiday to make sure it got done, but thinking about it, i'll do it when i get back, and if it doesn't get finished, that will be tough.

I have had a day off work today to go to the hospital for my scan. I know now that little pud is a little boy. :T (the sonographer said they were supposed to tell us that they couldn't be 100% sure, but in our case, it was too plain to not be.) We are both very healthy so i won't need to go back to the hospital now until the birth. DH is over the moon as he secretly wanted a boy. When we went looking at clothes the other week, he was drawn to all the boys things. My mum will be gutted though as she was desperate for it to be a girl so she could dress it up for my sisters wedding next June. Parents!

Rchdapp - i would highly recommend having some lucozade before the scan to make your little bean wriggle and give you the best chance of knowing.

Nothing OS to report really. I'm so glad DH is back from his hols to help me take care of the house. It was so nice to switch off again and finsh off my school work.

PIL's are treating us to a break with them at centre parcs in the summer so that we will have a rest before the baby comes. MIL knows me too well, and knows that if left to it we wouldn't organise anything. I would consider it a waste of money, and DH just wouldn't take the time off work. Likely to be in August.

Can't wait for the weekend to start sorting out the living room and babys room. Now we know we need the blue room, we have decided to dismantle the office and keep the other room for guests. Lots of decluttering to do and then the decorating downstairs. I'm going to go now and sort out my school work for this evening so i can then try and have another early night.

    Take care everyone,
    Michelle, xx

Don't think I have a problem with 'wriggling'. When we went for the dating scan at 12 weeks old bean leapt around all over the shop.

Just my little one that is a lazy little !!!!!!. I had my first scan at 10 weeks, and he was firmly asleep with his head on hi chest so they couldn't measure him. They were trying for ages and we eventually managed to poke him hard enough to make him turn over and wriggle his arm once.

    Different story today though.

Too busy blowing bubbles and wriggling so we got to watch for a good ten minutes while everything was checked.

    Afternoon all,

Weather here has been overcast, so I thought I would water the garden early -- what happens? The sun comes out, d'oh!

I thought that my toms were doing well to be still alive and vaguely growing - until yesterday when I visited my friend and saw hers in the greenhouse - OMG I should give up! I so, want a greenhouse - envy envy envy!

DD was sick all yesterday afternoon and night - just strawberries though. Most bizarre. Today is as bright as a button.

Just washing all my nappy stash and t'drying for maximum softness, as I am going to attempt to sell them all. I understand there's an eBay cheap listing day today or something. I've done 4 loads of nappies so far, I hate to think how many I own :o . It all started out so innocently, and quickly became an addiction!

I had a lady come around on Monday to look at my kitchen and come up with some plans and a quote to get it re-done. She e:mailed the first drawings through today - ooooooh :j . I hate to think what the quote will be like! I'm kinda guessing granite is way-expensive  S'pose I'd best do some serious belt-tightening!

Right, 51 mins of work left, achieved a whole load so far so feeling fairly virtuous! DH currently asleep, he was on night-duty with DD, who although slept solidly between 12:30 and 06:30 still fidgeted in the bed.

    Ciao for now folks!!
