Haven't posted for the last couple of days so here goes.

Tuesday I went for my blood tests (pregnancy). Managed to get through it by lying down, closing my eyes and blithering on like a complete and utter idiot (nothing unusual there then). Did feel it go in, but didn't go funny...or not more so than usual anyway. Huge result...I'm proud of myself. And yes I know I've got much worse to come

Tuesday lunch time I get a phone call to say I need to go back as they forgot to take another sample for the triple test. Ahhhhh. So Wednesday I was back down there again doing the same routine. Different person, but it still worked perfectly. Not even a hint of dizzyness. I think it had a lot to do with the fact I was continually telling myself not to worry and that its important for bean's sake.

Dragged my poor partner along on Tuesday just in case I needed someone to distract me....as it happened he sat there like a spare part.

Also on Tuesday we heart the heartbeat for the first time (bean wasn't hiding this time). The relief on my partner's face was huge. He's so worried about me because he lost a couple with an ex partner. They did try to find the heartbeat a few weeks ago, but couldn't find it....got him a bit concerned.

Just need to wait a month now until we can find out whether its a 'bean' or a 'bean-ette'. A little while ago my family were saying 'its going to be a girl' (Probably based on my partner's 2 mad teenage daughters)....now all I'm hearing is 'its going to be a boy'. Would love to find out just to shut them up. To be honest they seem more worried about the sex than I am. Boy or girl or alien thing....whatever comes.

Tea is going to be something made out of mince. My partner was talking about attempting his cottage pie again. It was nice the first time he tried it, but the sauce was far too runny. But I've given him a few tips so with luck we'll be much improved this time.

    Why is it so hot?!?!?!?!

I've had to take another break - this time it's because suddenly we have sunshine and "sticky" heat so trying to clean is proving exhausting.

Now to update my list :
    • Laundry ([strike]whites[/strike]) (towels) ([strike]dark[/strike]) (sheets)
    • Washing up - can't do until bra finishes soaking in the sink :o
    • [strike]Clean bathroom - incl. clean towels[/strike]
    • Clean kitchen - incl. floor
    • [strike]Clean Bedrooms[/strike] ([strike]master[/strike]) ([strike]second[/strike])
    • Clean Livingroom
    • [strike]Clean Hall / Stairs / Landing[/strike]
    • Make up Lasagne for tea
    • Clean Front of house (brass) (sweep) (swill) (window)
    • [strike]Ebay stuff to go away upstairs[/strike]
    To do Post School Run:
    • Clean shoes & get clothes out for tomorrow
    • Packed Lunch for DD tomorrow
    • Sandwiches for lunch for us tomorrow
    • Ironing (urgent) (non-urgent)
    • Fresh bananas for fruit bowl (in fridge)
    • Rebag donations for school fair
I'm getting there slowly. Basically just the downstairs left to do :j I have 1.5 hours to get it all finished...should be no problems. :shhh:

Not had chance to read through all the posts as I'm just passing through quickly...

    IT IS STILL THERE:(:(:(

I honestly don't know what to do... She has got up and gone to work this morning so she's not ill, if she ever was, but she's not done anything to clean it up. My OH reckons that she came in drunk on the night in question (not an uncommon occurance) and s*** herself, put her hands over her pants to stop any leaking out and made a run to the bathroom, coating the bathroom lock, handle and shower... I agree that this is probably what happened as she was at work yesterday evening aswel so obviously not poorly.

I feel like crying because it is just so horrible having to live like this. I'm moving out in 2 days but it's two days too far away :(

Off to my OH's mums for a shower etc as I will not step into ours even though one of our other flatmates has rinsed the poo away.

Hugs to those who need it...

This sounds so familiar. I have problems with needles as well only I nearly pass out everytime guarenteed :o I also dragged OH with me to every appointment :D Well, it was just as much his fault I was there as it was mine so why should I go alone :D:rotfl:

I gave up trying to work out what DD was going to be. I was happy to wait for the birth. Our only problem was trying to come up with names, DD's name wasn't a problem but if she had been a DS she probabaly still wouldn't have a name :rotfl:

We've already got the names organised. Girl's was easy, but we sorted the boy's in about an hour one weekend. I honestly don't care if its a boy or a girl, but everyone else is asking daft questions. Partner held a necklace over my stomache a while back. Now my sister is asking whether the heartbeat was like a train or a horse. Can't wait to shut the lot of them up. Mind you it is fun keeping them all guessing.

My mum has already started to comment that with her luck its going to be a boy and that she's not going to have a grand-daughter to dote on.

    Hi everyone!
Haven't had a chance to read all the entries yet but will be back [have been reading Oberon's dd on the DFW board....her writing is brilliant!]
Nowt much going on down here other than the usual domestic trivia as am working the vast majority of it. It's......wait for it......sardine burgers for tea tonight. Honest guv it's not what they get every night but it always seems to be the meal I'm doing whenever I post!
The small person's country dancing festival went down a treat and despite having to dance with ugh a yucky gal he enjoyed it. The announcer proudly told us that it's the festival's 56th year. I worked it out and realised that I did it in 1978. Yikes..am now feeling decidely ancient and feel it's time to invest in one of those clear plastic rain scarfs that tie under the neck!!
    Have a great moneysaving day.

PenelopePenguin can I call you PenPen? - your choir sounds fun but like you I'd definitely rather sing Borodin and Verdi than cheesy stuff :D Not that Verdi isn't cheesy at times :D What's the Borodin, is it Polovtsian Dances?

That would be lovely! It is Polovtsian dances. Can you guess the Verdi for our summer concert? Also doing West Side Story, but we may be up befor Trading Standards when the men sing about "the most beautiful sound I ever heard......" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It was Elijah at Easter, in the church, and was lovely to sing. Next Easter is Faure's Requiem. Never sung it before, but heard it in York Minster recently. Looking forward to that.

Oooh, I've sung in York Minster! (I used to be in York University Choir and York University Chamber Choir) ... Right, I'll hazard a guess at the Verdi - is it just one number? OK I'm guessing it's either The Grand March from "Aida" or the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from "Nabucco" :D

It's Nabucco! Well done, a Blue Peter badge is on its way to you!

What was it like singing there, when we went the choir seats were positively vertiginous. It was YU choir we saw. Understood that anyone can join them on a concert by concert basis, and go for around 6 rehearsals before the concert. Is this right? My friends and I thought we might give it a try, when they perform something that we already have sung before.
