Morning all :hello:
PP - hope you feel better soon.
PP -Good luck with the interview
Hello to anyone who's just posted but I've missed.
Busy day for me today as I've got a list to do  My plans for an early start and to crack on with jobs was scuppered by the stupid front door  The fella who fitted it didn't put enough screws in the Yale lock so when I pulled down on the lever bit to shut the door (I have a habit of breaking Yale locks so I'm pretty careful with them) after saying bye to OH the thing moved  I immediately went to find my screwdriver and when I took the back off I found that there were two screw holes without screws  Rummage under the stairs in our DIY Aladdins cave and I managed to find 2 short and flat-head (as in no countersinking needed) screws which JUST fit :j So the door is now fixed but instead of running 30 minutes early (like I was before DD got up) I'm now running 10 minutes behind. BUT I'm not moving from this computer chair until I've had my breakfast/coffee! :rotfl:
I've already tidied the bedrooms, stripped the sheets, fed DD (who is just finishing off cleaning her teeth - she's been really encouraged by a glowing report from the school dentist yesterday) and of course, fixed the front door.
Still to do today :- Laundry (whites) (towels) (dark)
- Washing up
- Ironing (urgent) (non-urgent)
- Clean bathroom - incl. clean towels
- Clean kitchen - incl. floor
- Clean Bedrooms (master) (second)
- Clean Livingroom
- Clean Hall / Stairs / Landing
- Make up Lasagne for tea
- Fresh bananas for fruit bowl (in fridge)
- Packed Lunch for DD tomorrow
- Sandwiches for lunch for us tomorrow so they don't have to be made up.
- Rebag donations for school fair - see if I can get them down to 4 bags so OH can carry 2 and I can carry 2 to school tomorrow morning
- Clean Front of house (brass) (sweep) (swill) (window)
- Ebay stuff to go away upstairs - I'm sick of tripping over the boxes
- Clean shoes & get clothes out for tomorrow - to check whether they need ironing / any loose buttons etc
Better go - need to do DD's hair and get her to school. Laters :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

freyaluck wrote:Well I am getting really peed off with one of my neighbours, he has attached himself to us and comes round every evening completely disrupting mine and the kids bedtime schedule GRRRRRRRRR. The trouble is he is such a nice bloke my dp doesn't want to offend him. I think I will have tell him tonight that 2 maybe 3 evenings a week is enough, as my 2 youngest weren't in bed until 10 last night, because he was here until 9.15pm, then I need at least an hour without the kids, so we all end up shattered and grumpy (espescially me). soory enough of the rant.
Hi, Frey. You just sound too nice, he clearly likes your company. Having neighbours like that does have its upsides, though. You may be able to rely on him when you need him??
I can see your avatar OK. DD loves it, as she is a real fairy princess!
Oooh, Shez! You've started me off now, crimplene (I think is the sp?), brush nylon, flanelette............... That's a lot of strange conversations today, to include all of those words!
Nicki, thanks for your good wishes>

Morning all
First time in a month that I've had the house to myself in the morning - it's sheer bliss. Not working until next Tuesday now....heaps of things to do though.
MFI delivered my new bed yesterday - minus the mattress....but that's a rant to itself that I won't bore you with. DH put the bed up last night and it looks lovely. Put my old frame on freecycle, had a few emails already this morning so fingers crossed it will go by the weekend.
It's dark and overcast here again this morning - much prefer this weather to the heat, I'm just far to delicate to handle it (yeah right!!). I've got a day of cleaning and sewing planned, promised DD2 I'd make her some new curtains and a curtain to go under her bed, along with some cushions....got all the fabric (thanks to my mother having a turn out), just need to unearth the sewing machine and a tape measure and get going.
Something with mince for tea, lasagne I think - DH won't want to eat until after the match tonight so will feed DD's early and we'll have a glass of something later to celebrate or commiserate Englands score.
Hope you all have a wonderful day"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Back from the school run. Decided to treat myself to a bacon subroll  and a pre-packed sandwich from Sayers (Like Greggs but locally based) which should keep me going until tea time without snacking
Posted some bits at the post office on the way home from school and now I've eaten my bacon roll and had another cup of coffee (my last one went cold before I could finish it thanks to a spider in DD's room  ).
Going to get on with my jobs now, once I've put my music on (might even use my MP3 Player) as next door is home ATM and is still in the honeymoon period with her new boyfriend  I think you can guess what I mean by that:eek::eek: I swear she must eat coffee as they were up most of the night as well, and OH wonders why I'm having trouble sleeping
:rolleyes::rotfl:
Oh well better get on with things... now where did I put my MP3 player? Laters :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning :hello:
Ooooh, my format buttons are working ATM so I think I might be able to do proper paragraphs
Well I didn't behave very well last night, forgot to eat at work before going out for the evening so ended up blowing £4.49 at Burger King(still, it reminded me that I've gone AGES without fast food!) And my budget should be back on track just as long as I stay off the bacon sarnies for the rest of the week and eat my reduced muffins for breakfast(5p each) instead
PP - I hope you feel better later.
PenelopePenguin can I call you PenPen? - your choir sounds fun but like you I'd definitely rather sing Borodin and Verdi than cheesy stuffNot that Verdi isn't cheesy at times
What's the Borodin, is it Polovtsian Dances?
Very busy at w**k today and heartily sick of it - but I am spurred on by the fact that supposedly I am moving back to work for my old boss at the beginning of July ("supposedly" because STILL nobody's agreed the new job description or made me a salary offer ) which, as I'm taking the last week of June as leave, gives me just SEVEN WORKING DAYS left working for my, um, female dog boss
(BTW, you know how sometimes you find out something about somebody that you really didn't need to know? Some of us from work (including me and boss) went out for a theatre trip last week and boss invited us back to hers for drinks afterwards. You know those magnetic poetry kits you can get for your fridge - well, boss and hubby have the "erotic edition" all over theirs :rotfl: ...)
Right, must go, LOADS to do and not enough time.

Good winceyette to you all
You're all a load of mad bu99ers :rotfl:
I currently have a very upset DS2 sitting on my lap because he has his first afternoon in his reception class at his "big boy school" today and he can't understand why he hasn't gone off with his big brother. Loads of tearsHe's still saying "I want to go to X's school" He can't graps the concept of just a couple of hours yet.
Anyway, I need to go into town in bit to do part 2 of a mystery shopping job (the 'return') Then I will come home and get on with some cleaning. Will be vaxing the carpets once DS2 is at school.
BM has been on, DW will be going on shortly and I'm sure there is enough for a WM load too (isn't there always?) Mind you, DS2 managed to spill hot choccy on our duvet cover last night
moggins - I hope you are taking care of yourself hun
PP - hope you feel better soon.
((hugs)) to everyone else too

Hello everybody,
I've been is so much pain the last two days (lots of sympathy accepted). DH took me to the dr as I could hardly walk let alone drive. I have a really bad infection around tubes/bladder/kidneys? Won't know for sure until I get the urine tests back on Sat. He did an internal as well, and I nearly jumped on the ceiling.
Anyway had 3 tablets of antiobiotics so far & taken strong pain killers this arv & then had a nap. I feel a bit more like me now & by tomorrow should be heaps better.
DD has found a job today. :jShe starts Monday. She is really happy with it and after a month they are sending her all expenses paid to Melbourne for a few days in training. She's never been to Melbourne so she's stoked. Good pay & good advancement prospects. DH has just left for w**k and my plans are just to watch a bit of telly on the lounge chair. Nikki has already exhausted me.Oh.....I did put a load of washing on before. DD made tea egg on toast with macaroni cheese. I will do a bit of surfing but it hurts to sit up after a while.
Brzlto your boss fridge collection.
Spendless Enjoy your *me* day, you deserve it.
PP Hope you feel better soon.
Anyway will get going. Hope you all a nice day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
