Hi Obi, sorry to hear about the holiday, but great to hear you are managing not to stress about things. How is the pregnancy going - any sickness/cravings/weird hormonal episodes yet? :)

If you do get morning sickness, I can recommend sea sickness bands - I had horrible nausea and sickness, and they do help take the edge off. They're about £8 in Boots, but shop around because I'm sure I saw them for about £2 in the last Kleeneze catalogue that got shoved through our door.

Babies R Us has moses basket mattresses that aren't too expensive, and they have loads of different sizes too, if you need a new one. I think I paid about £8 for mine, although that might have been in a sale.

Tumbleweed that is a great idea!!! You star.

Nothing unsual I'm afraid - I'm only 3 weeks by my rather accurate calculations, but last time I had morning sickness - that's what gave it away to my friends before I knew! Last time it was cravings for won tun soup, luckily we have a chinese at the end of the street.

Bit achey, period type cramps, but all sorted now.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

    Morning cheap chicks!!

Well, Prawn (the new baby) has really let me know s/he's there - morning sickness has started in earnest. Ginger biscuits got me through last time, so hopefully I can find some nice low fat ones.

Got a phone call from Barclays today, wanting to settle. The bank charges court case is next week, and I've had to write to them asking them to supply bnk statements, as I stupidly thought I could get away with just asking my business manager. She did give me a figure, and I out that down. Basically the guy today wa very pleasant, and said that they were checking the figure I was claiming covered everything, as they didn;t want to settle and then find there was another account tht they would have to deal with. I said no, as far as I'm concerned that's the figure I was given, and that's the figure I'm happy with. So he's going to email me over a settlement letter. I don;t for one minute think it's going to be the full amount but as long as it's within 200 that'll do me. I wanted to offer it against my loan with them as a final payment, but unfortunately with LB losing his job we're a month down on the rent so I'll have to pay the bills and pay off suppiers with it. Still, I'm very happy.

Which isgoo, because this mornign I woke up very depressed. I thought, ' what is the point of me opening my little shop, because any money goes straight out again. I work my danglies (if I had them) off for nowt, and I see so many poeple in town who obviously don;t work, live off the government and get everything they need. What's the point in me even trying.'

But I'm feeling much better now. Getting loads of stuff sold on Amazon, (totals over £200 for this month!) and that's making me feel better.

So it's all good at the moment. Today I'm going to write to Rossendales and basically tell them to go frag themselves, the solicitors to tell them they've charged me £129 for nothing, as the Rossendales this hasn't been sorted and now I know one letter was all it would have taken. Then I'm going to settle down to sort out my FIL's website and have a cup of tea.

I hope you guys are all doing well. Don't forgt to sort out some sunblock, you can get burnt without it being that hot.

And never forget - we can all do this. There's nothing in the world that can't be undone, removed or sorted out. Except Jordan's makeup.

Sorry to hear about the morning sickness Obi, hope it doesn't go on for too long for you. Asda do some ginger cracknell in chocolate that is GORGEOUS - not sure it helped my morning sickness at all but it lifted my spirits lol!

Update - just got the email from Barclays - they're settling for the full amount. Apparently 'as the sum is relatively modest, it's not cost effective to take it further'. I don;t personally call £2.5k modest, but hey ho.

Congrats on the settlement - can I ask do you still have accounts with them that are operating? I want to claim mine with Barclays but I'm worried they will close accounts (both have big OD's on them)
    Thanks

Hey Annie - yes, they closed any of my accounts that had charges applied, funnily enough they've kept the account that had the child benefit going in....

I'd advise you to open an account with a different bank before claiming, to ensure there aren;t problems with direct debits. They offered to pay the money into my remaining account with them, but I said no. I don;t want them taking it back to put toward the loan I have outstanding, as I need to it pay bills with.
