Afternoon all,
Yes it went well - relaxed, pleasant evening. I like his parents, and all went well, apart form my homemade mayonaise looking like vinigrette (oh delia, you've let me down love) and having to send LB to corner shop for dis and pudding. But all the food went down well, and we had copious glasses of wine (with LB scurrying around refilling mine and his mothers glass at every opportunity). To be honest I think she was checking out my place as she made comments about when he would be moving in....
DD called LB dada this morning, which was so cute, and the look of his face was like he'd won the lottery!! Then of course her biological father phoned, and still calls himself Daddy, so this is going to have to be remedied ASAP to avoid confusion. Having the Talk tonight about him moving in, which I'd like, but house is still too full of 'stuff' at the moment, so we'll see what we decide tonoght. Won't certainly be til after my divorc comes through, we both agreed that would be the neatest way to tie things up.
The 'Money Comes Easily To Me' mantra seems to be working, as had my council tax bill adjusted, and the backpay I got with it will cover the outstanding bill plus £30 to send to a debt. Now just need the help with the rent for 100% reduction in stress!!
Having a lovely day tidying up after dinner last night and generally pottering, getting some stuff sorted for listing tonight cos I'm only halfway to my £200 ebay/amazon target and I want some of the bigger stuff gone now. So anyone in the Scunny area wants a large corner computer desk unit let me know! DD's having a nap at the mo, as LB's parents are babysitting tonight, and I want her to be up when they get here so his mum can see her. She had a peek last night when she was asleep.
Well, hope everyone has a cheap day, sun's shining and I may get down to the allotment this arvo.
Tip for today - When selling on ebay ALWAYS weigh the stuff. I've lost count of the times I've guestimated and been horribly surprised at the actual weight and costs, and having to pay extra towards the postage. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:0 -
excellent news & good tip on ebay - have done the same myself, twice totally eaten up my own profit on underestomated postage which is v. annyoing!!! Hope you doing OK!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Evening chicks, the next um....exciting.... installment of my life and the struggle to not owe anyone any money.
That money comes easily thing da*n well works! Starting saying a in my head a bit, and trying to make myself feel how someone with a comfy amount of money feels like, and today I had 2 uni students spend over £60 on wool, and place an order for 2 more packs (another £50!!!) Yay! Plus Tax credits have been srted now, no back pay, but had to adjust it again as DD's going an extra day from this week. Well, at least it's covered from now on. Just waiting on the help with the rent, and I'll be a seriously stress free mummy.
Doing a mega list on ebay tonight (gods don;t I harp on) - got anouther 50 or so patterns, but am reaidng that ebaying secrets stuff I signed up for, and it's actually pretty good! Some tips seem to be working, but mostly it's geared towards people who sell for a living on ebay, rather than house clearers.
Moneywise been overspending a bit, too hot to do the 30 minute walk to save on the bus fare, so adjusting the budget, and having to play around anyways and see what LB's share of the bills will be if he moves in. Decided to keep our finances separate until we're both clear (he's only got £10k car loan, manageable certainly).
Well I'm off for a bath and a glass of wine with a good manga book, hope you all had a very cheap day! This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
