You guys make me feel so inferior with my simple little spreadsheets with coloured columns. Sometimes I go all fancy and put things in bold! :rotfl:

And then come the colours. And then the headers with different text sizes. Then the different fonts.

Before you know it - you've turned to the Dark Side...!

Ack! No! I'm pimping this thread!

    Rosewater? http://www.waitrose.com/food_drink/recipes/recipesearch/index.asp

    Try some of those.

If I may add a tip in here ;) Always look at the recipe pages from posh shops like Waitrose. In fact I usually look at waitrose first. It makes me feel like im posh, special and again posh not missing out when making food- even if the ingredients are cheapo
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

You guys hijack away - no idea what you're talking about (some nerd thing presumably - joking, please don't butcher me with a well crafted database). My spreadsheets go as far as tracking the exchange rates and I enter what I paid, they tell me how much I still owe........I use works, so noting fancy unless I want to spend 3 hours bashing my head o the keyboard.

Cheers for the tip lynz - everyone round to mine for Turkey & Rosewater Biriyani (??!!)

We're apparently getting a waitrose in scunny - they're bulldozing half the lower end of town for it. This is in a town that last opened Wilkos and Poundland. Hmmm. Plus apparently we're getting a Debenhams 20 metres from our existing Overpriced Department Store (staffed by snotty 40 somethings and Perfumery girls that can take your eye out at 20 paces). I can just imagine ladies in the respective Old Women Clothes Departments sniping at each other from open windows with BB guns..........
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Evening chickies, a quick addition to The MSE Times before I get back to scrubbing the floors like a wench.

Today has been a fan bl**dy tastic day. I paid the rest of my suite, and LB gave up his day off to deal with the remaining chair and mattress...awww. Just 2 problems - a) chair is being delivered nearly a year after sofa (due to my inability to get it paid before now) and so whilst chair is a lovely cream, sofa is .... ummm... not quite as cream. Now I'm going to have the get the sofa cleaned!!! b) My bedstead is a lovely lowlevel thing with lights set in and built in bedside tables, in tasty light oak. New mattress is a huge fat thing and sits on the top of my japanese style floating bed like a whale on a pancake. After discussion with LB we now have to go back to sofa place Thursday to pick out new bedstead!!!!! At least I can sell this one and use the money to pay for the new one. Psychologically this is probably a good one, as then will have totally different bed and mattress to the one bought with F*ckwit The Magnificent.

Woke up feeling really positive, and went to work grinning like a loony. Figures are looking better every week, and I'm feeling really positive. Listed loads of stuff on ebay, and house, whilst still resembling a junksale is getting there. Spent an hour on a fantastic spreadsheet to work out when we should have enough for our move, and worked out it will just about be within the 5 years - 2 years to get out of debt, and then just into the 3rd year to save up enough to move out. Yay @ Me!!!

Have LB's parents coming over tomorrow, so everyhting is getting shoved in DD's room - poor little thing's sleeping in the 'junk' room!! Her cot's shoved in the corner, with a passage through the stuff we need to get rid of. Think I'm going to ebay stuff for another 2 months, then whatever's left will go to car boot sale.

Tip of The Day - Meal plan like a mad thing. Can be a nice way to get the family involved, and get kids into the habit. Write down what you're having for lunches and dinner every day (get everyone to pick one day), then get just that when you go shopping - don't forget to check what's in the cupboard first. Saves you filling the trolley with junk and useless stuff.

NO OBI DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON CLEANING SOFA!!!!

Think laterally, get chair dirty instead.......:p :p:p
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Hi Obi

Glad you had a good day - I just wanted to say that I agree with you about changing the bed - I did - got rid of a huge iron bedstead and got a funky glass one instead.

Still only me in it - must be doing something wrong!!!

I must 'fly' and get stuff listed on ebay before I lose the will to live with it and post some more on here.

Hope you have a good weekend.
