Evening ladies, gents and not had the op's,
Today was an average sort of day - average takings, average behaviour from The Child, average sort of mind set. I did however do an updated budget, and boy was I surprised. I knew I wasn't taking enough from the shop, but according to my figures I should be taking £200 a week! I'm on average taking about £100. I have however started a claim for help with housing and council tax, and according to aforementioned budget, this should cover everything (if I get what entitledto.com says I could be getting) without needing to take more than £50 a week. Thta's really going to help, because then I can pay off more business debts, thus increasing profits and eventually be able to take more and not have to rely on benefits. Brilliant. I just hope they hurry up with the claim, cos if it's a lengthy wait it's really going to squeeze things a bit.
mmmm melabarrie - swimming pool. I'd love to be able to move to Florida one day - if you have to pay tax you might as well do it somewhere nice and warm. Open up a Ye Olde Englishe Wool Shoppe and import British wool and patterns. Be an ideal place - think how many retirees live in Florida!
On the subject of future, I've started looking at doing a part time evening course in beauty therapy - was wandering around town in my usual vacant manner, and realised that although the shops were empty the nail bars and beauty salons (of which there are many - no idea in that case why you see so many butt-ugly women in our town!) were all absolutely HEAVING!! It seems that even if they don't have the money to spend on carpets, curtain tracks and wool, they still want to look fabulous whilst being broke. I'd like a secondary skill if I ever have to not own a wool shop, or to supplement my income in the evenings. Looking for evening courses in the area, but it looks like I'm a bit early for the local colleges to start advertising their September starting courses.
Was ever so good and wrote a list of stuff to do tonight to avid being on the internet all night, but slumped in front of Doctor Who instead. I'm going to lobby the BBC for a minimum amount of time David Tennant must be on-screen for. I'm paying my TV license to perv at the Scottish dreamboat, not Peter Kay in a disturbing alien costume (of which I am not certain how much was a padded costume, and how much was just Peter Kaye spraypainted green......ewwwwww)
So chickees, hope everyone had a brilliantly cheap day, and that we're all feeling motivated and stingy. I'm off to get my next lot of Ebay stuff sorted and photographed. I may even have a cup of tea (trying to cut down, as I'm sure I'm overdoing it, and the tea is disguising my body yelling 'Oi! Stop it! Get to bed before 11pm for once woman!') as I was very good and didnt get myself a bottle of wine tonight. Under budget, you see. Though this is due in main to childminder being on holiday, so no etra travel or dinner out. Still, under budget is under budget, and not to be sneezed at.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Hey Oberon,
if it helps i had some beer on your behalf :-)
Hope the housing and council tax sort themselves out, though after working for them once wouldn't hold my breath on it being sooner rather than later...
I think today has been an average day for everyone.
Do you have a computer in your shop? When i had a collectibles store, i kept a computer in there, logged permenantly on ebay, was a good talking point, people used to say well it seems to much like hard work, or im a technophobe, and I told them i would sell it on their behalf, bang, instant cash. I have had a no spend day so happy days.
Have a good weekend,

Morning thanks for the nomination. That is so funny, my swahili next to real money saving tips:rotfl: :rotfl:
Didnt think about Peter Kay in the fat suit like that, now you have mentioned it I have gone a slight shade of green.
Think of the poor make up girl spray painting it:eek:
Or would they have taken him to the nearest body shop:rotfl:

I haven't, I should do, as I'm desperately trying to rebuild my website. I find I spend most of the day not doing much (except tidying up after child) and then working like mad when I get home. Must get phone line re-installed at the shop too, had it switched off to a) save money (worked!) and b) stop all those annoying 'Can I speak to the person responsible for the phone bills/internet/overpriced service I want you to sign up to' type calls.
Well done on the no-spend day mate - ony had one myself this month. Must think about offering a 'selling agent' service, once my own stuff is all sold. God way to make a bit of extra cash.
And thanks for having the beer for me. Saves it going straight onto my hips! I may have a cup of mint tea for you later on, to help your digestion a bit.
Hope you all have a wonderfully cheap day, and I shall catch up with oyu all later on!

whatamess - oh yes, you wouldn't want that on your CV would you? 'Spray painted a fat Manc lad green.' You're right, I would have just taken him to the local garage. Thank gods for that butt-flap, is all I can say. I was eating my tea at the time, and very nearly didn't finish. Reckon that episode should have carried a warning 'Warning, the following program contains scenes that may disturb you if you have an aversion to fat green men running around in the buff'.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. Just poppin in to say hi...OK so if water coming in just swim instead of plod!! If you're making that little from the business is it really worth it? Could you combine nail bar & wool shop!! DD could help with the glue perhaps & if things got too much the pungent aroma may help ease the tension!!...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
