Hester wrote:simple, divide how much the garment cost by the number of times you wear it. Some quite 'cheap' things like a £15 handbag you buy to attend one wedding, can work out a whole lot more expensive that a £300 coat that you wear for five winter months each year for 8 to 10 years. Sounds like the jeans are already proving their 'worth', especially if they encourage you to keep running and keep fit and healthy to stay in them!
Thanks for this Hester. I sure do intend to fit in these jeans for a long time to come so yes I'll be wearing them until they drop off me :rotfl:DFW Nerd no: 1490 -

Yes well done wannebemortgagefree, that's a serious weight loss, well done!! If it has meant not buying them on credit cards and you can afford them, I mean you can cut back/sell stuff on ebay to recoup some of the expense I would say definately keep them! I had a major fall off spending over £550 on clothes recently. I kept all the clothes in the bags with their tags on for 2 weeks before trying them all on again. When I did I found that some of the stuff I no longer liked or they didn't fit properly so I took £200 worth of clothes back for a refund. I know this is still a big spend on clothes but they weren't just for me there were summer clothes and shoes for the family too and I'm ebaying a load of stuff at the moment.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

I wanted to jump off the wagon but couldn't! It was my birthday last week and told myself that I would treat myself with half of it and save the other half. I even went to Camden market in London and did not buy one thing! talked myself out of everything I picked up so my birthday money is still sat there...unspent!Was debt free... then went travelling!0
