The DFW Wagon!! Climb back aboard!!!!

After climbing back on the wagon this week I have fallen off from a VERY BIG HEIGHT! I'm so ashamed at the amount spent I'm terrified of adding it all up
I'm back on the board again, I find that if I don't visit on a daily basis everything goes and I mean literally! This is the classic sign of a shopaholic, can do without it for a few days maybe even weeks and then bump there she goes again.
How do you all keep it together?DFW Nerd no: 1490 -
WANNABE MORTGAGEFREE
What happened what did you do?
Confess all..... Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
A better question was what didn't I spend money on?
Right the story is... after losing 6 stone over the past 10 months I decided to splash out on new clothes so (intake of deep breathe) here goes...
£34.99 pair of jeans in Next (size 8 I might add from a size 22!)
£29.99 bottle of perfume from Boots
£12 for two t-shirts from Top Shop
£25 for additional top from Top Shop
£34 for two skirts from Zara
£10.94 for food at M&S
£4.57 for toys for the kids to play in bath (didn't need them)
£34.99 for dress from Next
Think that's it. I'll rummage through my bag for receipts to make sure I've confessed all but I do believe that is it. A grand total of £186.48
I've also just checked by bank account/balance and even with all this spending I'll still be in the black at the end of the month which is the third month running but even so that's nearly £200 that could have been put towards my debt. What on earth was I thinking?DFW Nerd no: 1490 -
I know we are meant to be 'reprimanding' you for falling off the wagon, but I'm just seriously impressed. How have you managed to get into size 8 jeans from a size 22 in under a year? Respect! (OK, so you spent on clothes but at least you did this from a postive place, so you probably bought nice things you'll use a lot, rather than a gloomy 'want to cheer myself up' place, which usually results in god-awful things never to see the light of day again. Work out the 'cost per wear ratio' and it might make you feel better.)0

All priase for the weight loss!
Have you taken the labels off everything? Surely if not you can take them back.
HAve you been to Next outlets, way cheaper than buying in store. Or buy some off ebay, now you know that Next jeans "fit" well:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Thank you! I've been on the Rosemary Conley diet. Stuck at it, took it each day at a time and started exercising. Took up running (cheaper than the gym) and now run four times a week, entered my first race which was a 5k and did that in 23 01 :j Not sure how to work out the cost per wear ratio but I haven't had the jeans off me since buying them :rotfl:DFW Nerd no: 1490 -

:rotfl: Lynzpower I knew you would recommend taking them back if I hadn't taken the labels off so the first thing I did when I got home was take the labels off :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I felt so good in them I didn't want to take them back.:o
Seriously though I had totally forgot about the Next outlet store. Will keep that in mind for the future. The only course of action now is to do more mystery shops this month to make up for the overspend and to sell off some of my other clothes too. That should balance everything out - right?DFW Nerd no: 1490 -
simple, divide how much the garment cost by the number of times you wear it. Some quite 'cheap' things like a £15 handbag you buy to attend one wedding, can work out a whole lot more expensive that a £300 coat that you wear for five winter months each year for 8 to 10 years. Sounds like the jeans are already proving their 'worth', especially if they encourage you to keep running and keep fit and healthy to stay in them!0
