Entitled to is the webiste we always refer to in social serives where I work, definatley the most accurate one I know of.

Im not an expert though on them, but It cant harm can it to apply, looks that way, if you are as another poster said near the minimum wage.

If you an get your self some sort of "benefits champion" maybe at gingerbread or the CAB, they can push for the money for you, so it might not take so long. IN any case I still think you should move cos lighting & heating extra space is a waste of money!!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

ANd if you can budget for it one thing you could do is to stick the "tax credit" bit in an isa, tasx credits are notorious for overpaying and immieidately having to pay it back, so having a bit set aside and earnig interest could be a really good move, if you can manage, which it sounds like you could :A

Hang in there Eli, I'm sure you'll be fine, money saving can actually be fun and maybe even lift your spirits a bit..

You just need to set up a spreadsheet detailing all your outgoings and then deal with them 1 by 1. Use Quidco if you are going to change your insurance deals as you will get cashback. (I used greasypalm for my home insurance and the £50 beat renewal quote deal and ended up paying £6 for a years insurance!!! lol, I'm sure you can do similar with car insurance etc..)

    Take care

I don't mean to pry or be nosey but maybe moving to a new place would be like a fresh (cheaper) start for you and your daughter! I know you said your daughter loves it there but I'm sure she would be well chuffed if you said you were moving to a place that is just yours and hers! :)

    That's the spirit!

    Want to make it fun?

Sit down with your daughter and a load of old magazines. Play a game of ideal home and make a big collage of all the things you want out of a new home - for example, nice warm bedroom, park nearby, close to school/work, nice neighbours. And involve her every step of the way. She'll feel like a proper grown-up and it'll give you a lift too!
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?
