The arrogance of some Ebayers

I personally would not have complained on a forum about this. IMO you look as bad as the person questioning you, to be honest.
Well if someone contacts you about something that you are selling on Ebay and says that they can get if for half the price elsewhere, then says you ripping people off when you say no to their offer and should be banned - you will have to take your own medicine!
Yet people live in a capitalist society which is wholly dependent on buying and selling things at a profit/ or minimal loss and so does any private enterprise any of you work for!
It is easy to say all these things when the shoe is on the other foot and when you have double standards for others!
Hypocrisy!

soolin wrote:Brains the problem with your argument is that firstly it is against ebay rules and regs (which a user agrees to abide by) to charge excessively for p and p in order to avoid paying ebay fees.
A more worrying drawback is the huge disadvantage this gives to buyers who choose not to use paypal. If an item is not received and the buyer paid by paypal a chargeback will get the full amount refunded, included p and p. However if the buyer has to do an ebay claim they only get item cost back and not p and p.
By charging excessively sellers are in fact just forcing more and more people to use paypal. Whilst I personally prefer paypal many people do not and so a two tier system is in operation.
Obviously we as sellers need to cover our costs, and yes I do round up my p and p to cover some of those expenses. However, I do not charge silly amounts just to avoid ebay fees which is what the OP was about.

Plus, a buyer who has not used Paypal and uses the standard eBay claim, not only loses their P&P but also a further £15 for what eBay euphemistically describes as an 'admin fee'.'Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy'.

Stuff ebay rules!!!!!
You don't like it don't bid simple as that. Nobody is forcing you to bid the item! I for once can understand why the P&P is so high. I bought a lot of branded dresses it might be used or worn once, starting bid 99p P&P £4.50 (even though it only cost the seller maybe 45p to £1.00 P&P!) if it looks nice & clean & nearly new so... whats the problem £5.50 is better than paying £45.00!!! I would rather give the money to the seller than ebay & Paypal any time!!!!!!!!0 -
I cannot help but laugh at the OP thread title and their p&p charges0

See posts above about a two tier system for refunds and how over paying for P and P could cost the buyer in the case of loss.
Also, you say "Stuff ebay rules!!!!!", frankly if you don't like the rules then don't use ebay. It's really very simple...

All this thread is proving is that there are two types of people using eBay.
One is the type who play by eBay's rules and don't cheat.
...the other is the type who inflate P&P and try to justify any way they can of avoiding fees by blaming eBay and Paypal for their fee structure...the same fee structure they agree to abide by in the eBay T&C. These people are the true hypocrites.if i had known then what i know now0 -
I despise this attitude from so many who post on here that it's bad for companies to defraud their customers (which is obviously true) but it's OK for customers to defraud companies, particularly ebay.
Cobblers!
Fraud is fraud is fraud.
If you want to sell via ebay, you should pay their fees.
If you think their fees are too high, DON'T USE Ebay - don't use them and constantly moan about the fees and defraud them by inflating P&P.
You can't morally have your cake and eat it - you are using ebay because it is successful and gives the best market for your goods, so pay their fees.0 -
Why doesn't he just buy it from Asda, then ????0
