The arrogance of some Ebayers

I just cannot believe the rudeness of some people on Ebay

I am sellling a camera on Ebay and I put the postage cost at 30-40 quid and stated this was because the Ebay costs were quite high.

Then some guy e-mails and says he know I got it at ASda for 85 quid - so he wll offer me 90 and cannot believe I am selling it for over 100 quid and that the postage is high and only costs 6 quid

Ths slight issue is that it cost me over 100 quid in the first place and the combined fees and postage will cost 20 quid anyway and yes I did buy it from Asda just before the sale

When I tell him that is my price and if it is too high then he need not really care and I wish him luck at Asda he says I should be banned!!

I was very hurt by this as I always am polite to people but some people are taking the mickey

Especially when this camera sells for around 140-150 quid on Ebay anyway in its current condition.

Is there anyway I can complain??

Why do people just think they can be so arrogant when it is a e-mail??

If people think that an item is overpriced they need not bid on it

They think Ebay is some cheap free for all at someone else's expense!

**UPDATE**

ANYWAY I HAVE DECIDED TO PULL THE AUCTION A FEW DAYS AGO as I did not want the guy trying to bid and pull a fast one. Still beats me why he did go to Asda AGAIN to get a second camera is beyond me??

I wonder why he wanted to get two of the same camera????

I was not that happy with the camera in the first place as my old Casio S100 seemed better after having a quick look at at home! Since I was busy I did go back to the shop for a few weeks. I thought I could not return the camera as I had it over two weeks! Seems like it can be returned within 28 days!! Funnily with some shops like Dixons it is seven days!

Make sure you block him as a bidder. Otherwise he can win the auction, not pay but still leave you negative feedback.

Make sure you cancel any newly registered bidders in case he registers.

£30-£40 for postage is a rip-of ,sounds like your just trying to make more ,dosh out of postage.Loads of rip of merchants like this .Which i dont bother with.Put your postage at a more realistic price and you may get more bidders.

this was because the Ebay costs were quite high.

Everyone pays the same eBay fees. Why should you not pay them?

If you don't like eBay's fees, don't sell things on eBay.

I personally think £30-£40 for postage and packaging of a camera is excessive. Also, I don't actually think you can say on your listings 'I put the postage cost at £30-£40 and stated this was because the Ebay costs were quite high.' it isn't the buyers responsibilty to pay your eBay/PayPal fees.

So if I said 140 quid and zero postage does it make any difference or 100 pounds and 40 quid for postage??

It is 140 quid in both cases!!

So please explain to me what DIFFERENCE IT MAKES??

So you rather expect someone to sell something at a bigger loss - very nice!!

No. You choose to sell on eBay, so you should comply with eBay's rules.

You could always advertise your camera in your local corner shop window. They would probably only charge you 25p.

 There's nothing more annoying than over-inflated postal charges - ditto to previous comments!
