Just made a quick overpayment on my loan, wanted to get the figure a bit further from 6k, don't want to risk making any more payments now till later in the month though, need to make sure I have enough cash to get to the end of the month. I'll make another huge overpayment on payday in three weeks time. Will knock the total under 5k then.
Have been a bit lazy lately though, I've got some stuff I'm meaning to ebay, but haven't done it yet, and some cash expenses to claim at work. Really need to get them done, I'll then be able to make another overpayment maybe even before payday.
What am I going to do when I've got money but no overpayments to make?Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

Pat yourself on the back and start to enjoy a financially stress free life.... until you get a house, get married, have children, become a fully paid up member of Bank of Mum and Dad, etc, etc, :doh:Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
Just got my annual "please take out a new loan" letter from Nationwide, apparently it's "very affordable" for me to borrow a further £7,500. Really feel like telling them to get lost.
Any way, the good news from the letter is it's told me I've only got two payments left, which is less than I thought. So I actually owe about £180 less to Nationwide than I thought I did!!! Brilliant!!! I'd forgotten that the interest goes down each month, so when I've been allowing for ten quid a month interest, it's really only been around three. So yes, by the middle of August, my nationwide loan will be gone! And I've have just the Natwest one left!Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

Beccie@ Yeah, shame the same can't happen with the Natwest one, I access that one online, so it's always totally accurate here. It's getting really weird now, thinking that I'm so clsoe to getting debt free. I really need to get a plan together for my future. I've got so used to not doing things due to not having the money, and all that will soon change.
My GF says I should just stay at my parents for a few months, get used to having the extra cash and decide how I want to apportion my money each month. That's a good idea and fine, but obviously I still want to live with her. I'll make it very plain to her that that's what I want and see how things go. There's always been a part of me thinking that she's not really wanting us to live together, and me being in debt has been a convinient excuse for that not to happen. The debt hasn't been a problem for a long time now and I can easily afford to move with her and still overpay my loans, so we'll have to see how things develop in that area in a few months when I announce to her that I'm debt free.Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

Defnitely wait until your debt free as that was what was originally promised?
If months after that it's still no then you'll know what your position is.Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Yeah, I'd agree with that Beccie. I think I should stop sorrying so much really, as I'm going to stay at the parents until around Christmas anyway, so where I move to after that shouldn't be worrying me too much right now, I should just carry on focusing on getting the debt cleared.
Speaking of which, I got paid today, which means another big overpayment on my loan, £4600 left to go now. got a few more things to ebay this month and have my regular loan payments going out, so that should go down by another 400 in the next two weeks, so 4200 by month end. If I want to be debt free by the end of September, then that leaves me with a target of 1400 a month to clear for the next three months after this one.Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

Wow well done Andy,
It's disappearing quick sharp now. You are in the final 20% now (according to sig), thats a great achievement.
Christmas is not far away now, only 6 months, it will fly by and then you'll be able to move forward, whether it is with your girlfriend or on your own.DFD: 23/12/20100 -
Made another £50 overpayment on the natwest loan. I sold a few things on ebay, so want to push the total figure down a little more.
In other news. I've given up caffein.e I've not been sleeping well lately, and I thought it might help. So far so good, I'm on my third day off tea and coffee and feel okay. I've had the normal cold turkey symptoms, head aches, aching muscles, feeling tired. But my sleep's improving, and I've feeling less anxious about things and more relaxed. After doing some reading, it turns out caffeine can cause social anxiety and stress, not good things when your trying to clear a huge debt.
I'm also less worryied about whether my girlfriend is wanting to end the relationship or not. I know that sounds terrible, but if she honestly isn't happy, then I don't know what else I can do. If she's not happy now, then we're just not right for each other, I can't help feeling that she's got some issues of her own causing the problems, but it's up to her to solve them, I've tried to help, btu some people just don't want to help themselves.Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0
