  • I've stumbled across the Virgin Mobile Discount, 15% of every spend with a NUS card seems to be the deal. Has anyone tried this, and does it work? It seems amazing!

(Sorry I can't link it, apparently new users can't!)

Virgin also offer a shorter (10 months i think) broadband contract for students as well with 15% off! It's a pretty good offer.

Go grab what you can at the freshers fairs, it's the best time for freebies and discounts!

Does anyone know how you can get Student Discount when you buy stuff online from Topshop etc?

Not sure about Topshop, I'm sure they do it. Here's a few though...

    Students
Dorothy Perkins - 20% -Limited time only. Students simply enter their student ID university or college details. You can also sign up for the latest DP news.

Top Man - 20% -Limited time only. Limited time only. You'll need to enter personal details, gradution year.

Ryman - 12.5% -on over 4,000 products exclusively for UCAS & NUS Extra Members.

New Look - 20% -requires an NUS Extra card.

Argos - deals on many items including laptops, toaters, racks. ends today (28/09/2010)

    Graduates
Sites like Grb.uk.com provide discounts for graduates and students.
  • Found some great discounts for all over the country at student discount book website. just google it as because i,m new i cant but the website address on.

They have some great local discounts on there. They also produce a discount book which is mega.

You can normally get one from your halls of residence, at the fresher fair or from your student union!

  • I recently became a mature student and always having been jealous of student discount I quickly bought myself a NUS Extra card, but now I'm wondering if it was a waste of money? I've had loads of discounts, but all I've had to show was my college pass, the one I got automatically and free when I sign up for my course.

Are there any places that only accept a NUS Extra card?

PS sorry if this topic has been tackled already, but this thread goes back six years and I've got homework. LOL

Superdrug only takes an NUS card and they actually swipe it as opposed to just looking at it. I'm sure there are others but can't remember them now...
  • How many students actually have the NUS extra card? Not sure if it's worth it as my library card seems to work just fine for the usual student discount suspects. And I think having it for the exclusive discounts would just encourage me to spend more!
