Type in Student Bean into Google and it will give you an awesome site where it's free to sign up and you get loads for vouchers!!!!!

    have fun in Uni!
  • I forgot to say - the Student Aid website (student-aid .co.uk) is launching in a couple of weeks too which is a great tool to save more money on lots of your favourite brands, shops and restaurants, but also a brilliant social networking tool to find your new friends in your halls/lectures/campus.

Everything you need will be on-line, from what's on in your local area, student union events, swap shop, freebies and competitions.

Similar Facebook, but specifically for students!

    Enjoy guys :heart2:
  • Just came across a website that rents textbooks for a fraction of the price of actually buying them. Its called acadreamia.co.uk, definitely worth a look, its going to save me a fortune this year as I tend to only use textbooks for one term and then they linger on my shelf!

My university also has a 10% discount code, "EXETER1", which I presume can be used by students (or even non-students!) all over the country.

Hope you guys find this as useful as me!

  • I've just received my student ID card, can I use this for student discounts or do I also need a NUS card?

Some places will insist on an NUS Extra card.

You can get away with a lot just with your student ID card though, particularly if it has the NUS logo on it.

Most high street stores offering student discount will accept just an NUS card, but some - for example Superdrug - and online retailers offering student discount require an NUS extra card

Students are lucky to have discounts! Miss the days...
  • Many companies offer great student discounts for individuals who qualify. With the economy in its current state, now is a great time to seek out such opportunities and make needed purchases from those generous companies. Of course, individuals must show formal proof of their student status to qualify for most discounts.
If unsure about whether or not a company offers a student discount, check with the company before making a purchase. It is worthwhile to also check with competitors as students may get a discount from one company and not another. Students can enjoy special incentives from auto manufacturers, retailers, insurance companies, travel agencies and more.
