It's ok I think, it might not be clear in the pic but one plug has an adaptor with three plugs in (and an empty gap for another plug) and the other plug has two plugs in its adaptor, normally just one. I think it's ok? DH thinks it is too. Thanks for your concern tho, I appreciate it! What was your recent experience? I think I missed it

Thanks for all your comments on the LR, I'm so pleased with the results!
rosepink:eek::eek::eek: I am sorry to say you and Dh are both wrong - if the firebrigade saw those plugs and adaptors they would have a fit -you have a long trailing adaptor into a another adaptor in the wall -thats just asking for trouble - but more importantly is that the square adaptor in the wall socket have been condemned by the fire people - you shouldnt be using them - if you need to plug in more things then get a longer trailing one (you can get one that has 5 or 6 sockets) but do not plug adaptor into adaptor.

have had a lovely afternoon with my visitor - she always gives me a lift!
I know it's not clear in the picture, because you can't see that there are two plugs side by side, but as I explained earlier, there are two plugs: one has a long adaptor in, the other plug has the square adaptor in. I would never ever ever plug one adaptor into another one! Didn't know that the square one has been condemned, will take it out.
Glad you had a nice afternoon, it's lovely when you have friends that give you a lift like that! :A

Well done rose! :T:T:T If you keep going at this rate, your flat will be bigger by the time you have finished :D

Remember - get rid of anything you don't need rather than just moving it round, and don't bring anything into the flat if you don't know exactly why you're bringing it in and where you're going to keep it!

What good advice! I sometimes say that to DH when he wants to get something: "we've got nowhere to keep it," but we should think about everything in that way.

welcome Macpep! Nice to have you joining in with us

I’ve finished hoovering where I’d walked stuff through the place. I’m well happy with how the place is. Got a huge pile of videos, going to sort them out and see what’s on them and put them in two bags – one of blank tapes that I can record on, and one with programs on that we still want to watch. This should end my evening panic as I can’t find a tape to record on! It’s a nice sitting down job writing labels to put on tapes and whizzing through them to see what’s there!

I had a nap and woke up two mins before the man delivered my shopping! What timing! I lept up and quickly got dressed and then I heard a van's engine! Got to put things away and get some food, I'm starving!

  • Toots - trouble with christmas is Mum and sis will still be coming and they didn't get on with Nan at all so won't be sad about it. She was my allie in my family, the only one I was really close with and could rant about my mother to. I just feel lost some days without her. Knowing there was somebody on my side who agreed with me. She'd come and hide in the kitchen with me after lunch when my mother was driving us mad and I'd swig at the champagne and she'd laugh.
Dusty angel you can still hide in the kitchen with her and 'talk' to her AND swig the champers - i think i would have liked your Nan - and to hell with them its your house and if you want to be sad and honour your Nan then thats your choice. I think I would be making a toast to her - after all if it wasnt for her your MUm, you and your sister wouldnt exist.
Mudbath nice to see you honey - hope DS's pain is easing and they are beginning to deal with his problems

    back later
    toots xx
    Peace will be mine

Poohbear, just noticed you were with me on my HHC earlier! Thanks! How are you and how is DH? Did you weigh yourself? I did first thing and my weight is still the same

Well done on staying the same. I know how difficult it can all be. I weighed myself and have lost a quarter of a pound. I am being postive. It could have been worse and I could have gained!

Well done too on all your tidying and cleaning.:T:T

DH is just watching TV all day. I am trying to stay calm, the house is becoming cleaner and tidier as a result. I am so determined not to say the wrong thing and upset him that I go and do something whenever I am tempted.:D

DK I have a box to sort of my dad's things that I can't face so I understand how you feel.

Fedup I like your idea of a box. I might do that when I am up to it.

Rosepink - I do 'what are you going to get rid of from your stuff to make room for it' which works up to a point.
Dusty - I have three more trips to do between now and mid December so hopefully sort something out soon.

Kitchen has been S&S'd and WM and DW are on. DH appears to be glued to our bed so gave up on that till tomorrow. He is off sick but is still on a conference call now. Can't even hoover becuase he is on the phone. I may gnaw my own hand off before we get to eat dinner. Officially we are on a four day weekend from 5pm today so it must be wine o clock if anyone cares to join me? Celebratory, not drowning sorrows!

I really need to pack this evening  Which isn't something I enjoy! I did manage to get my suitcases out last night and round up a few vital bits and pieces, but still can't really work out what I need. It's going to be hot... outside... but I don't know how much I'll actually see of outside!

One of my colleagues is ill, so won't make it, which unfortunately means that my boss is going to be coming to the conference to take his place. I obviously should have volunteered  as it would have been less unpleasant to do the presentations than to spend time with my boss :o

I also need to get a bit of work done tonight so I can make sure that I'm ahead as far as my planning goes before my 1-2-1 with my boss tomorrow.

The house is looking relatively OK, but I'll update lists later tonight...
