Cheque in bank..
.. FINALLY it is the remaining amount from the insurance claim from the fire we had last December... all done and dusted now..
.. another thing less for me to think about.
DS2's glasses in for repair.. he lost the clip from the arm while playing rugby so needs a whole new frame.. Ggrrr..
Reading book done with Tiddles and appointment letter sent back for parents evening.. next Monday.. talk about cutting it fine!!
Box of chocolate animals decluttered with Moomin .. she is obviously feeling better so can be banished back to school tomorrow... She has flopped about most of the day but isn't crying when she goes to the toilet any more and her temp. appears to be better.. my sister was like this for about a year before she got serious appendicitis and had it whipped out..
I think I've got sorted for the guttering fixing.. my uncle will help OH replace..
Right.. next job... Clearing more landing... it is like shovelling snow in a blizzard!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

1. I don't envy you decorating the landing was it? I did that and the hallway, stairs, living and dining rooms all in one go last week and the weekend before. I had the time off of work to do it and was soooooooooooo glad to go back on Monday for a rest.
Had to be done though. I ripped up all the carpet and underlay in said rooms/areas as I was having them replaced. Little Bruv's treat to me before he went away again.
So glad I did it all though. As a) the carpets and underlay were more disgusting than disgusting can be and b) the house looks soooooo much better now. Much more homely and cosy and warm. Well worth the hard work. Still not finished the bathroom though:o Why do the smallest rooms take the longest?
2. I now know why my landlord has not fixed the leaky guttering above my bedroom window. £500? Didn't realise it was that much. Having said that. he gets enough in rent and he still hasn't fixed the conservatory. Been six months now!!
The £500 was just to have it cleaned out and repainted with bitumen inside to preserve the gutter (it is wood) and to have to moved slightly to helpthe flow... we were quoted £2000 almost to have it replaced!!.. well sod the 'conservation' area.. I'm going for plastic gutter to conserve what remains of my house!!
As for decorating.. I go in fits and starts.. I made a start on my room months ago thenthere was loads of kerfuffle with the house and I quit.. but I HAD to get DD2's room done as I had promised her.. and the landing is a continuation of the hallway which I wan't carpetting to try to keep the house a little warmer than it is at the moment and I am sure it will make a huge difference not having a gale blowing through the bare gappy floorboards!
ooh.. mat well.. need to nag my mother again...LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

sorry to you too toots
pigpen you are another on a mission to get sorted i see - good luck with the decorating and well done getting a solution to the guttering problem - what a time it has taken to get the insurance job finished but thats great you have got the last cheque:T I am pleased Moomin is on the mend - choc animals are very medicinal;)Remember - get rid of anything you don't need rather than just moving it round, and don't bring anything into the flat if you don't know exactly why you're bringing it in and where you're going to keep it!
hex hope DH gets well soon so he is out from under your feet - i am sorry about project crocus - i hope somnething else appears soon.rosepink1984 wrote: »It's ok I think, it might not be clear in the pic but one plug has an adaptor with three plugs in (and an empty gap for another plug) and the other plug has two plugs in its adaptor, normally just one. I think it's ok? DH thinks it is too. Thanks for your concern tho, I appreciate it! What was your recent experience? I think I missed it
Thanks for all your comments on the LR, I'm so pleased with the results!
rosepink:eek::eek::eek: I am sorry to say you and Dh are both wrong - if the firebrigade saw those plugs and adaptors they would have a fit -you have a long trailing adaptor into a another adaptor in the wall -thats just asking for trouble - but more importantly is that the square adaptor in the wall socket have been condemned by the fire people - you shouldnt be using them - if you need to plug in more things then get a longer trailing one (you can get one that has 5 or 6 sockets) but do not plug adaptor into adaptor.
have had a lovely afternoon with my visitor - she always gives me a lift!
did a quick tidy of the desk before she came so now i will do something before tea but need to go locate my list first

could do better - must try harder

I noticed a quote fom your message about your daughter...but I can't find the original message.
I work in a primary school as a midday supervisor...so understand that problems like yours can occur. Can I offer some advice?
Any would gratefully received
The diary and photos are a good idea..but don't make this too important in front of your daughter.
I did this with out her knowing, trying not to make a big issue of it.
If the class teacher is any good then they should have flagged this up to all staff who do playground duty - this includes TA's and MSA's.... Can you ask her if this has been done?
Thanks, I will ask tomorrow
Does your daughter have a best friend/couple of mates who can support her at playtime? Can you have a word with their mums?
Yeah, she does and I've spoke to her mam on a few occassion. The first time was when my dd told me that 3 boys had start to fight and push them both, her daughter hadn't told her only that she'd had to go clean her knees at lunch time, she'd a word with her dd and she then told her what happened.
Is the trouble coming from older children? This needs investigating! With the best will in the world it can be easy to miss things in a busy playground.....BUT if you've been forewarned in advance to keep an eye on a particular child it makes it a lot easier!
It's coming from boys, mainly the ones in the year above, one in particular but it doesn't just seem to my dd that he's doing it too, one of my friends little boy got a cut eye a few weeks ago, and all the teacher said was they'd keep an eye on it, but said she wasn't there so didn't know what happened. That's what I get told as well.
and lastly ...if your little girl is starting to not want to go to school then this means it needs sorting. If you don't get assurances from the clas teacher that things are moving then you need to see the head sooner rather than later.
I told her teacher that she is starting not to want to go to school, I don't feel like I am being re-assured by the teacher that's why I took the photos of the coat and shoes and wrote in my own diary. I was going to give it until the end of next week to see if it improved before going to the head, but may do it sooner as I feel that it's not been taking serviously.
Telling your daughter to push back may get her into trouble...I know you want to help her survive - but it often doesn't help! But if you have sen the head and told him of your concerns..then if she does get into trouble you will have a defence!
I told the teacher that I've always told dd not to hit back but to go to the teachers but as they keep sending her away to play I told the teacher that I told my dd to push back, she didn't seem bothered that I said this in the slightess. My dd wouldn't hit back anyway it's not in her nature. Actually listening to your advice I will take it up with the head of the department tomorrow.
Good luck!
:T:T:T
Thank you very much for your response, I'm not making it a big thing for dd, I speak to the teacher when dd is not there so she is unaware that I spoke to her, although the teacher said she would have a word with her, and dd told me that night that the teacher had ask for a quiet word, but said she just ask her what had happened and dd told her.0 -
