**Cubs Mum's does anyone know where I can/if I can order spare badges???** DS2 has earned several which I have lost during the move :o too embarrassed to ask at cubs. None on ebay :(

Phew I am so pleased this weeks at an end (mon-fri anyway) roll on next Friday as that is when the current madness ends. I am so wishing the conference was over, there will be so much bad feeling there with some news we have to pass on :( I don't want to go. Our PCT commissioner promised at a previous conference that there was several million going into services for disabled children, now their bosses have said the money isn't there, been spent elsewhere. Going to be so upsetting for parents. We do have positives but I hate things like this. Monday is more stress free conference for me, phew, someone else hosting about education developments I've been invited to so excited about that :) Hope once this is all over I will have some time to finish this house! Oh & make a start on X*as....I still only have one present :o bother

Ooooo I'm hungry....right I'm off to find some food **hug** to you all x x x
One day I might be more organised...........

Work laptop all charged and ready to go!

I've been testing broadband speeds as I'm having problems with softphone via VPN... just under 2MB... I think I need to speak to my provider about either fixing the speed or cutting the cost, or including free national calls to compensate for the speed. I'm pretty sure that the deal I was on was up to 8MB, but I only really expected 2 because the exchange is cr*p. However, their tests are all telling me I could get 11MB, so I need to find out why I'm only getting 2. Something to do in the morning rather than flying :p

Food & wine finished. Better put the DW on then go to bed...

Hi all been to visit my friend in hospital, she's doing ok which is good.

Pigpen, so sorry to hear that you have to defer, believe me September 2010 will swing round really quickly again for you, my only concern is...will you still get your bursary and will you have to pay back any that you have spent? I don't know how that'll work for you. But I understand that so much has happened this year for you and the children it'd do no harm to 'settle' back down a while and then start again.
If you feel a huge sense of relief now you've made the decision.....then its the right one. ;) xxx

Greenbee, are you all ready to go then?:D

No, I can't.. I have 13 'professionals' plus IEP reviews for 5 of the children, inc. 1 child with learning difficulties, 1 with aspergers, 1 with partial incontinence and 3 with mobility issues, plus stuff with XH and a divorce to sort, plus the house to rebuild, plus my usual emotional turmoil to deal with and DS3 is in hospital for an op on Thursday. It only takes someone to be ill or a minor catastrophe to occur and my organisation falls to pieces.

yes, you CAN! If you set your mind to it and gather the resources available to you within your extended family. At least you have a house - when I went to uni initially I only had a rented caravan! (i know, I know it was better than the cardboard box under the arches...)

I wrote an essay one weekend in the local hospital because my DS was rather ill and had to be admitted. I remember sitting there on the ward with him, and DD wanting to be amused at the same time, writing my essay and watching, from the window, my fellow students enjoying the sunshine of the early May bank holiday weekend.

I remember when the kids got measles, then german measles, then chicken pox then the mumps (that was interesting - took DS to the docs - he said mumps - I had no personal transport so got a taxi home to the caravan - I did make sure I asked the taxi driver first if they'd had mumps before...)

It's hard, it's tough, but it IS doable. I came away with a degree that has proved more than its weight in paper over the years.

Piggers - you're not a quitter so my advice on this one issue is don't quit - make it work. You can do it and attend all those other appointments at the same time. Just keep your tutor informed...

ETA - oh and I also got around to officially divorcing my husband whilst I was at uni!

I don't have extended family that are able or willing to look after the children and they are useless when it comes to writing chemistry assignments.. oh.. so am I!!

I have to write about stuff I know nothing about.. I don't even understand what is written.. this is NOT the right course.. the job at the end is probably right but not this.

not at the moment it isn't, maybe in a year or two it will be but not right now

I haven't met my tutor yet.. such is the level of organisation and my level of attendance! and while I am not a quitter I am confident enough in myself to know when I have bitten off way more than I can chew especially when it come at the expense of caring properly for my family.

ETA - oh and I also got around to officially divorcing my husband whilst I was at uni!

Well mine is nagging.. I think he wants to marry this new bit he has..

ooh.. exciting stuff.. I have 3 payments left to make on my overdraft and that will be gone forever.. :D I am so pleased.. it is less than £500 now..

Tiddles is having anxiety over the appointment for the cyst thing on her finger... the appointment is 14th December.. (medic #14!!) I am sure she thinks they are going to chop off her finger.. but despite my assurances they won't do anything but look at it she continues to fret.. she got REALLY anxious about going to the opticians.. it is odd because she is one of the most confident of my children yet, just like me, she is panicking over doing new things.

    cats fed
    doors locked..

and I'm off to bed.. after a cuppa... :D

Do you have a scouts shop nearby? They may be able to sell badges. I think DS1's cub leader got hers from there, but Sheffield is a bit too far away for you. Maybe they can post? Let me know if you want me to give them a call.
