it is just me and my OH this year, at first I was like oh steak and chips but now i want a traditional meal. My OH doesn't really eat starters or he gets full but we were going to have mussels (tesco packs so easy) and crusty bread - will have that another day!
Mains are all frozen as I was meant to be going to my parents until Xmas eve but due to snow I missed my flightTesco £1.47 turkey leg, taking out the leg and stuffing it and tying it up at each end (as suggested by someone on my christmas moneysaving turkey post), roast potatoes, stuffing, brussell sprouts, cauliflower and brocolli, yorkshire pudding from a mix. Gravy. May get sausages in bacon.
For dessert my OH isn't fussed on xmas puddings etc and thanks to the best mince pie pastry ever thread i am going to turn into a mince pie so we have bought a tesco sticky toffee cheesecake.
all washed down with sparkling rose part of tesco 3 for £10
I reckon the whole thing cost about £20 which will make it taste even betterOur only snacks over and above what we usually have is quality street tin £5 tesco. Just need to get some chairs!! - tj hughes- and am going to make a real effort decorating the table thanks to wilkinsons!

Loved reading everyones menus and wondering if anyone can give me a bit of advice....
Found out yesterday that because of a game of family chinese whispers instead of cooking for 6 on xmas day I will actually be cooking for 13!!! 12 adults and 1 child. Now I had already planned the menu and after discovering a love of cooking this year thought i would try make it food aplenty and a little OTT. only problem is with the extra guests and double the food I want to try to do things in advance as much as possible. running out of freezer room but hoping people could suggest what to cook day before / tomorrow:

We're having goose this year, for the first time - a 6kg free-range one to feed 10 adults.
Anyone any tips on cooking goose? Was thinking of doing an apple and lemon stuffing and a sausagemeat one.
Any advice welcome!
Thanks
Don't necessarily believe the times on the packet. We tried goose one year, and it was crisper than a packet of McCoys. I suggest doing an experiment or two before christmas day.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
