  • So I'm addicted to MSE and being a DFW...
My friends and boyfriend are getting quite sick of hearing about it :rotfl:
I've also realised how sensible I've become with money, compared to how I was,
okay I still need to drill it into my tiny mind that the small things DO add up! and yes that chocolate bar will not only pile on the pounds, it'll decrease the pounds (from my bank account!!)
But when it comes to going out down town, or my boyfriend encouraging me to do things, I make sure we toe the line between overspending, and having no life lol!

Anyway I'm pretty sad because I hate it when no ones posting on DFW, I check this site more often than facebook now

I'm currently sat waiting for my wages to go in so I can make my payments and organise my money

I'm really dreaming and drooling about Friday, I really hope they give me this money, I actually want it so bad I can taste it- I've never been able to claim any money for anything ever, 'cos my parents are high earners, so the thought of potentially getting even an extra £30 a week feels like a lottery win to me, and the thought that the most I can come out with is £250 a month, that feels like the Euromillions... :T:rotfl:

I know that I could come away with nothing... but I can't help but hope!

I've got nothing to lose by going to see I guess...

Anyway, my boyfriend and his brother were talking about clothes shopping earlier, and oohhh, I've not been clothes shopping in absolute months....
I'm not big on clothes shopping anyway tbh, but I'd love to go....

In Feb I usually get a big bonus, but my boyfriend wants to go away for the weekend, but I'd rather go clothes shopping, and pay a chunk towards debt haha! Such a geek!

Anyways, the good news is, as soon as this bloody money goes in I can pay my bills and go to bed!

  • Siiiigh, so I know I've only been on here 2 months, and about a month of that I sort of drifted off...but I just wish I could achieve more, faster! I really want to do this, and everything is just so slow going, meanwhile Christmas speeds towards me like a bullet :rotfl:
    Ahh well...

I got paid, have paid phone bill and next bill with an extra £2 on the Next, I might pay more off next yet this month, even if only £1 a day just for the satisfaction of paying one thing a day, even tiny amounts.

Don't know if mentioned but my boyfriend owes me £500, he's going to give me a 'token' amount to put in my Alliance and Leicester account just to keep them from over draft charging me _pale_ the thought makes me feel sick.

Anyways, best be off... to dooyoo and ebay!
Even though I'm up for college early in the morning...

  • Once you get the "big changes" out of the way, it's a slow process isn't it?
Just keep battling away... and wherever you can reduce your outgoings.
It'll bring around freedom soon enough :)

  • Yeahh I know what you mean, and yeah I'm grateful I haven't got as far as others to slog, but it is true, when you're just doing little day by day things, it feels insignificant!

  • Right I'm sliightly worried...

This grant I could be getting, they need a P60, now like a twerp, I've lost this years P60!

I've called the tax office and got them to send me a letter confirming the details on my last P60... Will this do?

I rang work, but my manager is a useless cow when it comes to anything involving effort, and said that work can't provide me with a copy (I know they can, because the tax guy said so).

Basically I'd rather not go through the years of effort trying to convince my manager to get me a duplicate, so will they let me use this letter?

Or could I print off my payslips for the past 12 months and do it that way?

I hate all this stupid stuff... I think the govt. purposefully make things as !!!! awkward as possible!

Anyway in new news, done another dooyoo review, filled my car up, and I'm now trying to focus on NSD and ESD (Essential spend days, petrol, grocerys etc).

  • Right, rang my HR (who are useless, they were laughing and watching television in the background!!), they said I need to e-mail Human Resources with a request as they can't take a request for a P60 over the phone?
Anyway, so I've done that, if they haven't gotten back to me in a week, I'm going to send another e-mail, and ring up again.

In the mean time, I find out if I'm eligible or not tomorrow, *fingers crossed* eh?
I know it means a big ballache of sorting my stuff out, but siigh, got to be done!

Also, just checked e-bay, I've had two bids! One for 99p on an Alfie dvd (don't think this will go any higher as it's used) and ones £3.99 for some sunglasses, and its got 6 whole people watching them! :j

So at minimum I'm going to make £4.98, lets hope that the bids get higher!

    Send me good karma! :p

Anyway, I'm off to find a decent bingo website!

  • I'm now on littlewoods bingo, with a grand total of 20p winnings in my account! :j
Resisted the urge to play anything other than the free scratch card... might play some bingo if I ever get a spare couple of quid.

I also paid another £9.31 off my next statement which makes me happy :T:A

I paid £15 off last night... so my total should be around £117, perhaps sliiightly more with interest?

I'll update my sig to £120 just to be fair, and if its any less I'll change it when my statement comes through.

Anyway, I'm just glad to make another payment!

    Hi ZarZar!

I noticed that your monthly salary is quite low and I don't think you are working full time (based on what you take home). Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, just wondering if you have considered a 2nd job to up your income? Or changing jobs entirely?

If this is something you've already looked at then just ignore me, but I figured you could make things easier for yourself with a little extra income :)

  • Yeahh don't worry, I've thought about it!
But I also go to college full time, my shifts at current job are quite unpredictable (as in when they'll be), they have to give me a min. of 15 hours P/W, but it can be up to 25 during college time up to 45 during peak times, like christmas season.
But thanks for stopping by anyway :)
