I don't know how to multi quote but:
Same as you Maddie my job has good benifits but i have no gurantee of when i will get pregnant. So i do stay in hope or move but then have to wait in new job to get any maternity benefit?
REDROSE - after maternity i would hope to go pt although that is a hope as i know they have no in the past if not have thought about maybe going back to uni to re-train (maybe my heads in the clouds - who knows)
Fingers crossed that af stays away but i don't think i am pregnant as i am testing using 10mls strips and i thought that would pick up before af was due.

I forgot to share the ebook;
http://www.psychologicalselfhelp.org/Chapter4/chap4_76.html
twinklie - did you say it was a psychology after school thingy? If so maybe this would interest you?
TAN - there is no way I am going to stop trying, and don't really want to go through the stress of getting and starting a new job either, so am staying put.
I think half of what makes me negative about work sometimes is that I am thinking about so wanting to be a SaHM, rather than that there is anything wrong with the job. Although the fact that I live 40m from the office and often have to commute much further than that does put me off it a bit!Proud to be a moneysaver! :cool:0 -
Evening Ladies,
Slapped wrists for me as I still haven't read back to see who has got their BFPs. But I will!!
Had my second job interview this week (found out I wasn't successful for the first interview I went to), and it was a load of pants. Came home about 4pm and was on such a downer. Anyway, started arguing with DH about how peed off I was that I hadn't found a job and that right now i really couldn't be bothered. Ended up saying that I didnt give a s*** about a job, all I wanted was a baby and a car (in that order). Really random, but I know I have to give back my old company car next month and I hate not having a car to get around in, plus I'm bummed about the TTC being on hold. Anyway, to cut a long story short we compromised. I have to wait for the car, but...........TTC is back on :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j Just a shame that I ovulated 5 days ago so def out for this month :rotfl:
Anyway, I hope I do get another job but I;m not going to worry about the maternity benefits because my old company was only ever going to pay me stat mat pay anyway, which is the same amount as what I would get from the Government
Loads of affling from me tonight. Huge hugs all round to those who needs them, let's get this TTC wagon moving!!!!!!!:T

I had some soup for my dinner and i have burnt my tongue, it hurts now

my place have a good maternity package, and i'm saving up to cover the short fall, as i'm the main bread winner in our house and we just couldn't live on OH's very hard earned money.
the trouble is we're all under review again, so if Af did ever bloomin turn up and the TTC started in full swing, and a miracle happened and i got pregnant i could be having to apply for my job or a new job again, and i have been worried that given the choice of someone who will be around all the time and someone who will be on mat leave or about to start it, i wouldn't be the one getting the job.0 -
I have been having sore nipples for the last 6 days now, don;t know why. It started on days 18 of my cycle, i think i ov on day 17. Does anyone know why?Married 09/09/090

Thanks for sharing the ebook, Maddie - it's exactly what I need. I work from home too and some days find it really hard to motivate myself. So I'll have a read of that. Maybe tomorrow, when I'm supposed to be working :rotfl:
I'm pretty sure my employer will pay the bare minimum in maternity benefits. I haven't asked about it as I'm still in my probationary period and don't want to tip them off that I'm ttc, as wouldn't put it past them to come up with a reason to let me go. Haven't really given a great deal of thought to how we will manage with me on maternity leave to be honestI'm trying to pay as much of my debts off as possible in the meantime and I'm pretty sure we can manage on DH's income and SMP.
I was going to test on Sunday, but now found out that I have to be up and out of the house by 6am  so that's not going to happen! Currently undecided whether to test Saturday instead, or wait til Monday. I'll just have to wait and see when temptation gets the better of me againYou can do anything, make anything, dream anything. At the mo I have a zero hours contract so im guessing id be entitled to nothing? However after last nights bfn result we agreed for me to seriously (coz I was only half heartedly) looking for a job down with ohbut with schools and stuff any job i did get wouldnt start til September (from what was advertised anyway) and im hoping to be baking me bun by then so i have no idea what I would do for money :S as i presume if i got a job for starting in September me working a month or two and then going on maternity leave would not be in favour at all (yes very responsible me:() now im totally confused (although in the scheme of things if i stick with this job i dont think id get any maternity pay, and if i change jobs now i dont think id get any maternity pay ~ good job me and my spreadsheets and mse ways can budget on his money alone really would be a bit tight but would be doable?
Actually does anyone have any websites etc on maternity pay and stuff - 'cause typing this out has made me think id be boogered in this job and would be better trying to find a start at easter or whit post :S (Sorry for ramble but i hadnt realised this before now)
Hiya
I work in payroll so ask away. It doesnt matter if you have a 0 hour contract but what your earnings are in your qualifying weeks (which is roughly the 8 weeks prior to the 25th week of pregnancy) which have to average more than £95 per week. If they are less than this you can still apply for MA.
If you start a new job and you are already PG you wont qualify for SMP with them but can apply for MA with the government - this (I think) takes your highest 13 weeks earnings from a 66 week period (I dont know when this runs) and uses that average.
MA is not taxable, SMP is.
Go to directgov.com (I think thats the address) for loads of good and acurate info.
