Sir monster: still thinking of you. Sorry but I don't have any words of wisdom or advice.xxx
Twinklie: I've worked, and socialised in Preston for about 20 odd years. I went to UCLAN too so spent the majority of my uni years in the Ship or the Adelphi! I also know Chorley pretty well and I think that beats Preston hands down in the dump status!!!!!
Ohhh. all this talk of scones is making me want some. I love love love cheese scones.0 -
:rotfl: elliebobs I couldn't agree more! I was born and bred in Preston *shudders*. Needless to say I can't wait to escape either. I went to UCLAN too and spent lots of time in the Ship and the Adelphi. In fact my now DH used to work the door at the Ship and dj at the Adelphi (upstairs). He now dj's at Roper Hall on a Sunday night.
It's not the kinda town (ahem....I meant city) I'd like to raise little ones in. I've gotten out once and I will do it again if it kills me.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Evening all
Scones yum yum we had them as part of our wedding reception Home made Scones with Home made jam & clotted cream. We also had to have Devon clotted for for DH and Cornish for me!!! Then it was the big cream first DH or Jam first ME!!!
Got a chance to BD for brunch which made a real difference and are hoping to do it again later !
Not so easy as my brother is currently staying with us as his wife has kicked him out. What with that and DH being on call since wednesday has not made BD time easy at all. (DH is a vet)
I do not seem as obsessed as I was I hope that is good?
Does everyone have SS they are OVing?? MMC says i should have this weekend but no SS???
Hummmmmm..........wait and see if AF comes I guess.......
xoxoIf you can think it........it will happen0 -

Roper hall!! ha ha. we used to call it ropey hall! I used to go when it first opened; that's how old I am! Haven't been there for years now. Felt far too old the last time I went so never bothered going back. I must admit I was always more of a warehouse girl anyway and still go v occasionally now.
I'm from a small town in Devon originally so imagine the culture shock for me; still getting over it!
The good thing about Chorley is that it is so close to the moors which is fab; we're looking at moving to Brinscall sometime within the near future. I personally would love to move back to Devon but there is no way we could afford to buy there.
When were you at UCLAN; I was there from about '98 I think; studying law and politics.0 -
Hello everyone. I am after some advice and I thought other than going to the doctors, this might be a good place to get some perhaps.
I am not exactly trying for a baby yet. I am getting married next May and hoping to start trying after that. However I have had problems with periods all my life. I got my first one quite early but they never were regular and when I was in my mid teens they stopped completely (I am now 31). I ignored the problem for many years but abot 3-4 years ago decided to go the doctor and seek help.
The GP referred me to the hospital and after some blood tests and internal scans the doctor said she thinks I have secondary something or other (sorry that's as much as I remember). It's not PCOS but quite similar in a way that I have cysts in my womb but apparently it is caused by the fact that I am overweight and because of that something isn't working quite right in my body that is supposed to get rid of the testosterone so my levels are too high.
Anyway, I was put on HRT for a month to see if it brings on the periods and it worked. After that I was put on the pill and ever since I have had regular periods.
However, seeing as it takes some time for the body to get rid of the effects of the pill my GP said to me last time I saw her that I should stop taking it sooner rather than later if I want to concieve next years. So i've come off the pill. that was about 7 weeks ago and although I have lost quite a bit of weight (I'm nearly within normal BMI) I've not had a period since. I know it's not been all that long but I was wondering whether I should go back to the GP and speak about my problem now or should I wait until I actually want to start trying ( I don't really want to have a baby belly at my wedding).
Thank you in advance0 -
Hi Kairi
If it were me, I'd be going sooner rather than later. Do you mean you want to start trying May 2010 - if so, that's not that long away. If you get your cycle back on track you could use condoms until you're ready, if you don't get them back on track at least you've got yourself in the system sooner rather than later
Hope that helps

Huge hugs to you Sir Monster! I've never been in the position having never had a mc but I know how hard I found it when a friend of DH announced she was "accidently" pregnant as she didn't want children, when she told everyone she even said then she still hadn't decided if it was good or bad news! Anyway she was like this when she knew we had been trying for nearly 2 years then and had other problems. I can only imagine it must be 10 times worse when you ahve mc'd. I hope the grey days get brighter soon for you.
Kairi, I would go back and ask for more tests. My periods stopped for a year and only after having full blood tests did they discover I had a pituitary tumour that produces prolactin. I now have medication to counteract that to try and help us conceive. It is also thought to be a contributary factor to my weight issue. I find it absoloutely nigh on impossible to lose weight now no matter what I try. I guess my point is if they know the full story it could be very easy to treat and put you in the best possible position for ttc without wasting any time.Good luck.
Twinklie any news on the bath yet?
Sorry af showed Smartie, keep up th epositivity!0 -
Morning all,
Back to work for me today. Started the week on a bit of a low - there was a definate pink tinge this morning and my BBT was very low. I was just starting to really believe I could be pg too. I guess there's still a chance it could just be implantation or something, but it seems unlikely.
I'll try to keep up the PMA!Proud to be a moneysaver! :cool:0 -
