Good afternoon ladies
Hugs to smartie for AF pains, my cramps have finished but know what that is like!
Well I was feeling more positive last night as me and DH were going to SIL bday meal, but on the way driving up to SIL's DH mentioned that SIL is 5 weeks pg (same as what I would have been). Needless to say this set me off crying (not good with non - waterproof mascara!). Anyway all through the meal I couldn't help resenting her thinking I should be pg too, its not fair and I must confess I shed a tear both at the table and more in the ladies loos. Has anyone else felt like this? Any advice for me? I know I will be dreading the big 'annoucement' in a few weeks and try to pretend to be happy.
Anyway thanks for your advice I think we will go back to ttc this month, as soon as the bleeding stops . .Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Sir-monster (((hugs))) did your family know you were pg? Do you think if you told them it would make them a little more sensitive when the announcement comes? I found people were so kind to me when I told them about my mc and in fact far more people knew about the mc than they did about the original pg. Crying is entirely normal, you are completely within your rights to feel sad and jealous and frightened and guilty and confused etc etc etc. Take really good care of yourself, and so what if you burst into tears infront of your family, that's what they're there for (((hugs)))

Thanks Courgette. SIL does know about the mc as DH told her as I guess he needed to offload somewhere and then she told him about her pg. I guess she must feel awkward about it too . . Haven't told anyone else yet but I think I might as it probably helps to talk it through rather than keep it bottled upThomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Hugs sir monster. I wasn't sure what to do about telling people to start with, but I found it easier to tell people - and I found that so many people have personal experience that it made it much easier to talk about it. You have nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about, so if you feel comfprtable sharing then share. I had a couple of random breakdowns at work, and found it easier that those immediately around me understood.
This was just my experience, so go with what feels right for you. x0 -
sir monster so sorry to hear your news. You are totally normal... I kept welling up for a while after my MC. There were two people at work and a friend as well all due the same week as me and they went on to have their babies in September and I found it hard to deal with. My DH wanted to send a card to the friends (they live away from us so we don't see them often) and he couldn't understand why I was upset about it. I saw her when she was with a small bump and nearly burst into tears at a birthday party but managed to keep a mantra in my head to stop me making a scene.
Just remember it will happen for you when its right. Hard to swallow that right now I'm sure but you seem to be keeping upbeat and positive on ttc.
On another note, I've made scones today for the first time and they have turned out like biscuits! They taste OK though. Might have to spread jam on them as they are not worth cutting in half. Anyone know where I went wrong? I feel a bit sickly after eating one now!
Hope everyone's having a nice weekend.

scone recipes are a bit hit and miss katy - i tried a few before they turned out right. did you maybe roll them out too thin - they need to be quite thick (I normally do about 1.5")
I just made a batch myself which turned out ok - can post the recipe if you would like?0 -
hugs sir monster. I've found it hard to hear people talk about being pg or having babies when i've mc. Even today, we went to OH parents house they said someone they know is 7weeks pg and i found like i wanted to cry and shout 'i should be the on pg', i just try and grin and bear it. Hopefully her knowing about your mc, she will be a bit more sensitive. Hope you are keeping well.
Oooo i love making scones:D0
